Don't miss it, and it is free to walk by. A granite monument from a millennia before Rome! Looks new even today.

It's right there in the Hippodrome, can't miss it. Amazing to realize that it was created in 1490 BC, brought here in 340 AD, and you can see it up close in the 21st century! No excuse missing it!

A main site within the Hippodrome, the Obelisk is quite a site. I agree with other reviewers, it is quite a task to get a picture without other tourists in the photos. I still is worth seeing while in Istanbul.

Even whilst covered in snow the engravings are beautiful see. We just flew by and took some quick photos as we checked out ither obelisks.

This made from pink granite about 3500 years ago and transported here in multable pieces. It is located in the Hipperdrome. Pleanty of tourists gather arround it, so fro a better photo stand back.
