A great location for this hotel. Very close to Taksim and the small pretty shopping streets nearby. When we stayed the hotel had only been open for 6 weeks and as much as the furnishings, finish and fittings excelled, the service was lacking.

I don't know about you but small things make a big difference in a hotel. So on arrival the check-in was excellent, if a little wordy... We went to our room and were greeted with a welcome platter of nuts and Turkish Delight... all very good.

For a room with a full bath and seperate shower I would have expected more than one micro-sized set of toiletries for two people. Luckily we had our own. Also, when the room was made up the towels were never fully replaced and when they were there was no routine to where they would be. I know that sounds fickle, but this place aint no cheap meat.

Free water (with swing tags telling us this) was granted on day one. But never replaced. Nor was the minibar refilled until I requested it to be so and then room servicing seemed to happen very late in the day, which if you're a business traveller can be frustrating if you're rushing up to the room to grab 20 mins peace, or make a call.

The lift made a very odd noise and so did the aircon in our room. I mentioned it politely to the staff, but alas, nothing was remedied...

On the up side, the breakfast was magnificent, made all the better by the great view from the restaurant. But when we stayed there didn't seem to be an all day dining restaurant/brasserie. We had to wait whilst they set up the same restaurant for lunch following breakfast.

I have a strong feeling, however, that these are all teething issues, and I met the head of sales who seemed committed to getting all this right. Somehow I think they will. So, yes, I would return, but I'd probably call ahead to check the 'how to service a customer' test had been passed by their people!

Room Tip: Higher is always better.

Great location. The room is very nice, but not five star nice. The bed is excellent, the best hotel bed I've slept on in a long while, with a great pillow menu. The room is well appointed, the bathroom is large and with all new amenities (the hotel is brand new). But it lacks the sense of luxury I associate with 5 star hotels. None of the facilities except the breakfast room (that doubles as a restaurant and also seems to serve drinks) were operational, so no gym, spa, pool, real bar, or second restaurant. Also, no in room movies. Fast wifi, very helpful staff. For the discount price offered, it's a very good deal. For full price, I guess one will have to see the full list of property amenities.

I travel a significant amount for work both in the US and internationally and try to stay at five-star properties whenever possible. I chose this hotel even though it had not fully opened because of its modern decor and central location. While there were some minor issues associated with ongoing work at the property (the gym had not yet opened), the hotel did not disappoint. The entire staff was at least proficient in English and took an their commitment to service seriously (neither characteristic should be taken for granted while in Turkey). The hotel had relatively fast WiFi and in-room amenities that one would expect from a five-star property. It is only a five minute walk to the Taksim Square metro station (I found taking a taxi in Istanbul requires too great a risk to life and limb). I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for a business or personal stay in Istanbul.

I was very lucky finding this 5 stars hotel at a very cheap rate on booking and it was a great choice.
At the time of my visit it was still under construction as spa and gym were not yet finished, but my stay was enjoyable anyway.
Breakfast is very good with plenty to choose at buffet.
Location is comfortable to reach Taksim square in 5 minutes by walking, and from there you can go to sulthanahmet with 1 metro and 1 tramway in about 30 minutes max.
Rooms are clean and staff is nice (even if concierge suggested some restaurant which was not so good.
