Ottoman Palace Taksim Square Hotel
Ranked #676 of 1,160 Hotels in Istanbul
Reviewed May 1, 2013

Having read some reviews about the area in which this hotel is located, I was a bit apprehensive about staying at Ottoman Palace. I needn't have worried. The hotel is just a stone's throw away from the Taxim square and the main shopping areas, and there is easy access to the Metro, buses and taxis. While the surrounding buildings were a bit run-down (when you compare with inside), there was nothing unsafe about the area and we were made to feel exceptionally welcome. The staff were brilliant, very friendly, and with a good standard of English. There was nothing they wouldn't do to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The staff was particularly friendly and was always on hand to deliver coffee or a snack directly to our room or to our table in the on-site coffee lounge. The hotel was kept immaculately clean, the rooms were nicely decorated and came with a large bathroom and a balcony. New towels and bedding were supplied every day and the buffet breakfast was delicious. This is by far one of the best value hotels in Istanbul and I would be delighted to stay there again.

Room Tip: on friday and saturday there is a live music (turkish and greek pop)

We came for a vacation my wife and me (Mohamed ABDOURAHMAN) from Djibouti and we are in this hotel since four days and we decided to stay more for ten days, it is a very nice hotel, employees are helpful always smiling and never been disturbed by anyone, the breakfast can be a little bit upgrated but in general it is ok. We are advising to try the experience of spending few days in this palace. The price of the double room acceptable for the hotels in the Taskim square and all nice shops very close. Every important places to visit (blue mosque, grand bazar, bosphore...) are closer with few minutes by metro or tramway (metro twenty meter from the hotel).

Room Tip: Rooms with taksim square view are large and quiet (higher floors), give a nice view on the avenue of...

Hello, i was staying at the ottoman palace hotel me and my friend on the 6th of February.Upon our check in the receptionist was very cold(u need to show ur hospitality expertise by laughing !!!) The location was very convenient, but there are some things to be pointed out...The room was a city view therefore we could not sleep due to the noises that kept on waking us up-DOUBLE GLAZED WINDOWS ARE NEEDED... We asked for a different room and unfortunately the room did not include a safe box(noting the safe boxes are portable and not attached to the wall...you need to work on the services guys...Plus the room service was closed at 11,30 pm!

My family and I traveled to Istanbul in June of 2012. We wanted to visit the major touristic attractions of this beautiful city. We stayed at The Ottoman Palace in Taksim Square, which was walking distance from Metro station, many 5 star restaurants, and historic sites that make Istanbul a wonderful metropolitan city to visit.
The Ottoman Palace offered us best service that we could hope for along with great food and entertainment in the Rooftop Restaurant which had a magnificent view of the Bosphorus. Everyone had a smiling face and eager to please attitude towards guests. Our kids enjoyed the close proximity of our hotel to shopping centers that we could easily walk and explore.
This is hotel is a hidden gem in the middle of a wonderful city.

if you were in Istanbul for the first time, then this hotel is the best for you, it's in one of Istanbul most well known commercial area. Everything is nearby, restaurants, supermarkets, shopping, souvenirs shops and the most important transportation.
a variety of restaurants are there, starting for well know fast food chains to local meals, and believe me the restaurants there are GREAT.
Istiklal st (where the hotel is located) is full of every kind of shops and even a very nice mall.
Transportation is so easy as there is a bus hub 100m away and a metro as well.
all these above is about the hotel location, the hotel itself is fine but location makes it great.

Well located (taksim square), tastefully decorated, hotel employees were very helpful. The view from the top floor (restaurant) is very nice. I do not recommend the set dinner menu (wednesday, friday and saturday). Breakfast is ok although they have no espresso and no real orange juice (surprising for a 4 star). A little noisy though.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the highest floor possible (noisy during party nights, see review above but that...

well, we stayed there for 7 days . on arrival rooms were perfectly tied up and everything was working and neat, chocolate on bed which was a nice gesture, except the tv screen was broken so we watched half of the stuff shown. everything was clean EXCEPT the FLOOR of the bathroom and CARPET . it wasnt well vaccumed at all, if i moved the bed a bit, some stuff will appear like old tissues and toys or stuff from previous occupiers of the room. also the keys problem, everytime we go out and come back we had to have new keys ! they keep terminating themselves . wireless is so FAIR in rooms, you have to sit by the door to catch a signal. the room view was amazing . plus the walls were like paper, we could hear what people were saying in the next room. restaurant view also was great. breakfast wasn't wide choice. the fresh cooked food was only 4 courses and the rest was jam and cheese and the usual stuff for breakfast. though there was HAM served and they didnt mention it was a ham or for non muslims. which was a big mistake. they need improvement in the stuff i mentioned before, other than that the staff is very friendly and helpful and the location is epic. the door man is the nicest of them all and "burhan" the room service guy was lovely :) . but again our stay was nice there and these problems can be solved .
