went here during lunch one day. Sat down about 11:45 which was good, because by 12:10 people were lined up out the door. We were the only tourists in the place - everyone else was definitely local. There is minimal English spoken.

First - you get a choice of salad or no salad. White bean salad with onions and tomatoes. Squeeze a little lemon and some oil/vinegar and you are good to go. Then you will get a serving of meatballs, grilled up fresh with some spicy sauce. And a giant piece of bread.

Some people made sandwiches, while others ate the different parts separately. It was great.

If you are not in the mood for meatballs - don't go. There is nothing else to eat except for salad and meatballs.

For drinks, soft drinks, water, or yogurt drink (Arayan). No liquor available, which is unfortunate because the meatballs would go great with a beer.

We read about this place on YELP and decided to try it out and did not regret it at all!! As far as I understand the restaurant does not have anything else on the menu apart from meatballs and salad. We did not try the beans salad and went straight for the meatballs which were served with bread. The meatballs were sooo nice, tasty and juicy.. and decently priced as well. Atmosphere is not that great but the meatballs makes up for it :) Definitely give it a go if you are ever in Taksim, Istanbul!

This place is for the food lovers. If you like good food, this hole-in-the-wall place is a great place. The chef cooks kofte in the charcoal grill in the corner of the restaurant which is feast for your senses.

This tiny little meatball restaurant (yes, this is what they do, and they close when they finish around 1.30-2pm so better be there early) is one of my absolute delights in Istanbul and I often take my foreign visitors there for lunch. I do not care how appropriate or "classy" this place may be for business lunch and judging by their look when they take the first bite I think my guests do not care either. This is how a meatball should be, crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside; and this is how it should be served, with blood red tomatoes in summer and a delicious chilli sauce in winter. Served with a great baked bean salad (piyaz) on the side, this is so far the best meatball I could find in Istanbul. The best part is Huseyin is always by the grill and doing the tough job himself so I know the quality and the taste will be the same for many years to come.
