“A wonderful place to stay”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

Travelling alone, I booked this hotel for 2 reasons, one, it was a good price and 2, it was in an outstanding location. Never having visited Istanbul before I was a little nervous about what to expect, but I was absolutely delighted with the entire experience. Its is in a bit of a back street, (5 minutes walk uphill to the main street), but once inside the door it is a delightful modern boutique hotel (it only opened a couple of months before I arrived, so its very new).

The staff are utterly amazing, friendly, they speak very good English and are all very helpful. My room was sparkling clean, well appointed in Turkish/Western style, and had a beautiful huge balcony from which I could see (more than a glimpse but not a panoramic view) of the Bosphorus sea. Breakfast was provided in a nice dining room.

The location is 10 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and hagia sophia, and 10 minutes from the Grand Bazaar (you MUST go there). So all up, I found staying here a wonderful experience. The hostess, Helin, is completely charming.

I will go back to Istanbul, and I will stay here again without hesitation. Perfect for solo or couples.

I am Marc from Australia.

Room Tip: get a room on the first floor facing the Bosphorus (mine was Room 9)

We booked this hotel blind from the internet for 2 nights, knowing it was in the heart of the old district of Sultanahmet. The location was excellent (don't be put of by the slightly run down feel of the nearby streets - it is clearly being developed and improved). A very short walk to all the main sites - we even walked all the way back from the Spice & Grand bazaars without feeling tired. If mobility is an issue, be advised that you do have a short but steep hill to walk up the Blue Mosque etc.
The staff could not have done more to make us welcomed. They arranged taxis to & from the airport, fixed our river cruise (& transport to the boat), advised us on where to find the types of local foods we were seeking. The rooms were very clean and well appointed and the breakfast buffet interesting and slightly different each morning.
The only reason I have not given 5* is that with most newly renovated building there are often 1 or 2 minor teething problems - our air conditioning failed. Thankfully not a huge issue in early October. Due to it being a weekend no electrician was available, however the staff tried their best, even offering us a new room - which we didn't need.

Very good location - just near by Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia.
Home-style service. English and Russian speaking reception.
Decent breakfast Turkish style. Not very big variety of food.
Rooms are small but clean, the terraces with sea view compensate for everything else.
From small negatives: wi-fi was not working, even though it is promised in the hotel description. And there is no elevator - be prepared to climb stares.

I just stayed for 2 days in Ersari Hotel.Everything was excellent ! This hotel is an excellent place to be, and from there, to feel the sense of Istanbul.it is excellently located, close to the major sight seeings, easy to reach, within 10 minutes by foot. The hotel is new, and the direction shows hospitaliy, speaking English fluently, flexibility, and was very helpful in all cases we needed. Breakfast, both the content and the place / condition were perfect as well.
