very good location, you can walk to all historical attractions, such as Topkapi,Aya Sofia,Blue Mosque, and from Aksaray station you can go,by tram,to all other directions. Small rooms, small bathrooms, but very clean.Kind personal at front-desk,good connection (shuttle-bus)to the airport.Poor breakfast, but enough for starting the day out,and the best-location for breakfast room-at the 8-th floor, with a splendid view on Marmara Sea !Good value for the money .

Room Tip: Higher floors may have a better view,to Marmara Sea.

We booked this stay back in March 13 for a birthday celebration and a return to Istanbul to catch-up on this magnificent city full of history, culture and a changing society. We wanted a hotel that was centrally located, near good transport links and offered value for money as we were on a budget - so the Grand Ons Hotel looked good from the start. However, as the trip got nearer we read the reviews and were slowly getting disturb as we had written to the hotel to request a room away from the lift and quite location, no reply ever came. We had also mentioned one of our party was vegetarian and were worried as we were on a half board basis that there may not be a choice of food. Our outbound flight was late arrival and so we arrived at the hotel around 9.40pm local time. We were greeted with a friendly and efficient smile and told were our room was and the porter took our bags, no information regarding meals were given, we had to enquire and were told breakfast times, when we mentioned dinner - a look of disbelief took the receptionist by surprise and after a short time we were told it would be from the Sunday evening between 7-9pm in the restaurant. Our room was an average size room on the front of the building, next to the lift landing area, so our request both direct and via the travel agent had not been reviewed or granted, the room was clean tidy and presentable, although there are maintenance issues with the rooms in general they are budget style and lightly furnished, the en-suite was average size clean and presentable, some maintenance issues here to. Daily room service was adequate but our bed sheets were not changed throughout the whole period 8 nights that we stayed, towels were changed daily. The TV was ok but only one English TV channel which was a news channel. THe restaurant was on the top of the hotel and had some great views out over the old town and sea area to the west of Istanbul. basic continental breakfast with ample fruit juice, coffee, tea and some cold meats and cheeses, hot food left a lot to be desired. Our evening meal on the other hand was great a three course set meal with soup, main course with vegetables and salads and fresh fruit daily with both a vegetarian and meat option for myself. We had an issue trying to confirm our return airport transfer at the end of out stay and the receptionist was really helpful and sorted everything out for us. In summary, we would go back, as we liked the location, access to and around Istanbul and also the value for money on the half board basis. negatives, housekeeping bed sheets need changing every three days if guests are staying over a week. Breakfast could be tailored towards guests likes and offer a better choice or selection.

Room Tip: the hotel has a great sun terrace on the top of the building with small splash pool, as we were stay...

Very good room, very good location, near to the tram, at 1 station away of Grand Bazar.
No parking area - but found one near by
It was a pleasant stay, the breakfast was poor, but enough to start a new day.

Have recently just returned from a 2 night stay at the Grand Ons. The hotel is in a great location, with the tram stop (Aksaray) a 5 mins walk from the hotel. You literally take the first right from the hotel and walk to the end of the street to catch the tram and from here you can travel to all the major sights of Istanbul (Grand Bazzar, the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia and Eminou for the ferrys), and also to Ataturk Airport.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was basic but plenty of choice and nice food and good coffee. The bar/resturant area also has a roof terrace and was a good place to have a nice drink and over look the city. The bar staff were very friendly and helfpul.

The rest of the hotel staff however were not too friendly and helpful, but this did'nt really affect my stay to be honest.

The hotel location was quite busy with lots of shops and a few resturants but if you are wanting nightlife you are best catching the tram/ferry to one of the other districts of the city.

Overall this was a great hotel to stay. The rooms and facilities were clean and comfortable, the location was great for exploring the rest of the city and was excellent value for money. It cost us around £20pppn for Bed and Breakfast.

Quick tip: A taxi from Ataturk Airport to the hotel, which is in the Laleli district, costs around 40 TL one way (which is roughly £14).

Used this hotel for a family of three for sightseeing in Aug 2013. Clean, powerful shower, no street noise, comfortable night's sleep, breakfast ok, reception staff a little grumpy but generally helpful. Budget hotel but certainly would use again for stop over when sightseeing. Roof top terrace nice for view and pool for a quick dip to cool off!

Good hotel for a good night's rest, when you came the Turkish Riviera and then going home. Good location in Aksaray- Laleli zone , easily to found at the end of ordu street, clean room, breakfast enough for a traveler.
The staff at the reception did not excel in politeness, but is helpful when you have need.Any way I recommend this hotel when you are in transit. Certainly if I comeback in Istanbul I will book again.

Room Tip: rooms from the back are quqiet

Hello! I had a wonderful week in Laleli Istanbul. Thankyou to the staff for the good service, and your kindness. The breakfast was terrific. And with that view I felt I was on the top of the world.
Many things to see in that big city. Maybe I shall come back and see the rest some time?
I stayed on the hotel from 24 of july to 31 of july.
