“Witnesses of History”
Reviewed April 5, 2014

I am not a museum-lover type guy but I had really great time in Istanbul Toy Museum. In the museum I realized toys having instructional functions which enable notions to transfer their ideas&cultural experiences&objects to their rising generation. Toys are witnesses of history. I felt like I was in a journey through history. Each room has a different theme. Social- Working Life, World Wars, Travel to the Moon.... If you are in Istanbul you should definitely visit the museum.

“Perfect for children aged between 0-100!”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

If you have a chance to visit Bagdat Avenue located in the Asian side of Istanbul and travelling with children, please spare a couple of hours to that museum. It is located close to the Erenkoy-Caddebostan district of Bagdat Avenue and can be easily reached. The owner of the museum is a famous writer/poet who converted the family owned old house to a lovely museum of toys which he has collected all through his life. Don't miss and enjoy.

“Time travel surrounded with your old toys :)”
Reviewed September 17, 2013 via mobile

Honestly, İ refused to go there and the only reason İ was there was because of my friends. And how wrong İ was :) İt was one of the most interesting visits İ had... İ especially enjoyed the second world war room as well as space room :) İ felt like a child again in the room where they designed as an old train cabin. Perfect :)

“Impressive and amazing collection”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

In an era when you thought that the only toys were those made in china, a visit to this museum will be an eye opener. What a collection! Each collection coincides with specific events in history (such as the landing on the moon and the world war and such). Don't miss the first teddy bear template. Good for the physically young as well as for those young at heart.

There are four floors of exhibits and no elevators. Also there is a small cafe. The museum is on the Asian side of Istanbul and is reachable by taxi. This is in a residential area and we saw that there was hardly any parking.
