Went to see the Anish Kapoor exhibit. Wonderful location far from the crowds of Istanbul perched high above the bospherous. would visit again.

This is a lovely, modern, and well kept museum, set in a beautiful garden. As has been pointed out, it's a long and congested drive to get there - from the Old City, tram + buss took one hour, mid-day when the traffic was lighter - . Luckily the buss stop is right in front of the garden. If you are short of time, only go there if the temporary exhibition attracts you. ( I saw Anish Kapoor).
Tip: If you don't want to use their restaurant, there is a nice garden coffee-house a couple of minutes walk to the right of the museum, where one can have a moderately priced but tasty lunch.

Wonderful location, wonderful collection, wonderful view... The building was the house of Sabancı family, before they turned it to a museum. It is an old house located by Bosphorus. They offer free entrance once a week and even free yoga classes in summer. You must visit it when you go to Istanbul.

Added attraction here was the Anoosh Kapoor exhibition in the art gallery. The calligraphy exhibition in the main house was outstanding. This site combines very well with the Sadberk Hanim museum. A fantastic day out - maybe ending with a river trip.
