“Nice location and cheap deals possible”

We got a good deal by booking the hotel on their own website and agreeing to pay cash. The difference in price is significant especially compared to regular booking websites. Indicate the room preferences while booking the room. I also booked hotel transfers and some tours through the same hotel. They accept payment in Euro/USD/Turkish Lira/Pound sterling. This information I gathered by calling them before my trip saved me some fees in foreign currency exchange.

Now for the hotel review. Most of the major points is as mentioned in other reviews. As all other reviews have mentioned the property is very close to all major attractions. The service of the staff is excellent and the view from the rooftop (bhosphorous) during breakfast is very pleasing. Some of the staff that stand out are Hayati, Ismail, Sanslı(?) and the young lady(with hijab) at the breakfast room. This was a family trip that I traveled with my year and a half toddler, wife and parents. All members of the staff are kid friendly and everyone of them remembered my sons name. This hotel, as in rest of turkey, you generally put the tip in the common tip box. We kept our luggage in the cloak room, checked out for a few days to visit other parts of turkey and came back to this hotel. Wifi does get erratic on higher floors and if this is important, as for a room on the ground floor next to the lobby. There is a computer next to the lobby for guests to use if need be. They donot serve alcohol in the hotel and all rooms are non smoking. There is a small fridge in the room (without a mini-bar). We had a safe in the wardrobe which is also very handy to have. You are given a remote control to the A/c in the room at check in.
The only major drawback that I can see in this hotel that can be a bummer for some is that the breakfast room is at rooftop accessible by stairs only.

Room Tip: Wifi is stronger in lower floors.

I recently stayed in Tashkonak Hotel and was really impressed with the way this hotel has been maintained and managed by the team. To start with, rooms are very neat and clean even the public areas. I stayed here for two nights and had breakfast & Wi-Fi included in my rate. Breakfast is basic but i think pretty decent for the rate paid. Breakfast room is located on the top floor where you can access the terrace. The view of blue mosqueand marmara sea from the terrace is just heavenly. Hotel is located 5 minutes walk away from the blue mosque, Aya sophia, Topkapi place and grand bazaar. Location of the hotel is the biggest plus point.
Staff members are very nice and helpful specially Hayati. He goes out of his way to make sure that the guests are comfortable. All and all a great place to stay in Istanbul.

Room Tip: All rooms are good.

Near several other options in Sultanhamet this one stood out for us due to it's triple single bed room. Clean, excellent Turkish breakfast and only a few dollars more than local hostels for three single travelers. Also the staff are great.

Room Tip: Triple single bed room is great, not overly roomy but great for what it is.

We recently spent a few days in Istanbul, visiting for the first time and chose the Tashkonak hotel and we were not disappointed. Other reviewers have mentioned the location and it is fantastic. Very close to the Blue Mosque and all major attractions in walking distance. We requested a quiet room and were given one with a small balcony overlooking the courtyard garden. The room was clean and comfortable as was the rest of the hotel. What made the Tashkonak special were the staff who were so friendly and welcoming. No matter what time we got back, they were always interested in having a chat, finding out about our day and making useful suggestions. The other thing was the breakfast room on the roof with a spectacular view of the Blue Mosque and the sea and staffed by two wonderful ladies who served a great breakfast and really seemed to enjoy taking care of the guests. All in all, we would very much recommend the Tashkonak and will be booking in for a return visit as soon as we can.

We stayed 6 days at Tashkonak Hotel and were very happy with our choice. We came here because the great tripadvisor reviews. This hotel is comfortable, well-maintained and has a great staff. Upon our arrival, we were greeted cordially by Ismael, who patiently explained many things about the city of Istanbul and extensively helped us plan our days there. His information was very useful and saved us a lot of time trying to figure things out on our own. Later in our stay we met Hayati who also was extremely pleasant and helpful. He even taught us some Turkish and let me watch a soccer game in his laptop with him! The breakfast choices are wide-spread: fresh fruit and vegetables, breads, jams, yogurts, juices, eggs, etc. The restaurant is located on the terrace and it offers great views of the ocean. Hotel is located in the heart of Sultanahmet, and we were able to walk everywhere from there. Coming "home" to Tashkonak Hotel every night was very pleasant and we looked forward to spending sometime in the lobby drinking tea and talking to Ismael and Hayati. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

My boyfriend and I spent 6 nights at Tashkonak Hotel, Istanbul. It was a wonderful experience. Hotel is clean, comfortable and cozy. Staff is absolutely incredible, very helpful and friendly. Location could not be better, it's within a very short walk to all the major attractions of Sultanamet area. From the first day we were warmly greeted and patiently helped with many ideas of activities, tours, ways to spend out 6 days there. There was never any pressure to buy anything, they honestly wanted us to take full advantage of our stay. When I got sick (stomach flu) my hotel friends took care of me and gave me delicious Turkish yogurt so I could feel better. After 5 days in Istanbul we went to Capadoccia and they kindly stored our luggage there until we came back to spent our last and 6th day. Breakfast was delicious and varied, the views were great. I highly recommend and would definitely go back! Thanks so much to Ismael and Hayati! Hope to see you again one day!
