“Istanbul Stroll”
Reviewed June 5, 2014 via mobile

Great location within easy reach of all the sights in the old city of Istanbul. We were able to walk to all sights. Friendly and helpful staff, organised tours, taxi and recommended local restaurants. Breakfast had vast selection although restaurant only available for breakfast.
Although bathroom was small, it was expected and more than made up by the location on pedestrianised street with quality restaurants next door including Adora and New Hayat.

My wife and I had stayed at the Sapphire before and it was a delight to return. The hotel is centrally located within easy walking distance of the Aya Sofia, Sultanahemt Mosque, Basilica Cistern and the Topkapi Palace. It is situated on a cobblestoned "pedestrian-only" street which leads down to the nearby Egyptian Bazaar, Golden Horn and the Galata Bridge. The hotel is surrounded by reasonable and friendly restaurants offering typical Turkish food.

The hotel is reasonably priced and arranges transfers to and from Ataturk Airport. The service is very friendly and efficient. The pool and sauna provide a pleasant way to relax after a hard days sightseeing!

The service at this hotel was excellent and the staff were very friendly and obliging. I loved the breakfast and looked forward to it every morning. The hotel's location is ideal because it is walking distance from all the main tourist attractions. Topkapi Palace is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. The Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque are about a 10-15 minute walk away. The walls in this hotel are thin and while the furnishings are tired and the rooms are small, I would definitely stay here again. Bring ear plugs in case your room faces the restaurant area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the restaurants.

We just loved everything about this hotel. It had such character and everything about it reminded us we were in Turkey. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was more than sufficient and the rooms were most comfortable. This hotel is ideally positioned and almost all of your sightseeing can be done by foot. The hotel is surrounded by plenty of lovely restaurants and many shopping opportunities. A great win!

Was here with my wife and hotel is really located within 5 min walk of all must see attractions in istanbul. Rooms are clean and bed are very good but rooms are not very big. Breakfadt is nice and if you care for a dip in the pool or sauna it is possible but in basement location.

Hotel is located in the center of old city with walking distance of all major landmarks. Since Istanbul is very big city, the location is crucial for sightseeing. Staff is very friendly and ready to help. They can arrange you shuttle bus to and from the airport. Rooms are small but very clean. It is excellent value for money hotel. WiFi connection was excellent. Breakfast includes variety of food, but it is located in the basement :) Don't expect much from the spa.

Room Tip: Six floor has a sea view, but close your windows by night since Istanbul is very noisy city.

What a find! We could not have been happier with the location. Our room on the sixth floor overlooked the Bosphorus. The sun shone every morning!!! Yeah!!! We were close enough to even hear prayers being called at the nearby mosque morning and night. Other rooms were bigger but we paid the lower price for the smaller twin room but the bathroom was of a good size so no complaints. The breakfast is served on the lower ground floor and choice is plentiful. Across the road is a selection of restaurants which complete for your patronage. Around the corner is a commercial laundry which was desperately needed by me. All clothing came back clean and fresh!! We walked everywhere but trully appreciated the free pick up at ataturk International airport. Would recommend if you want to stay in europe but you want to dine in Asia as it is close to the ferry terminal. We aught the tram / train back to the airport for 6 turkish lira each!! A short walk to the tram stop!

Room Tip: Ask for a higher level room with water views
