Location! All of the biggest attractions in Sultanahmet are steps away from this hotel. Upon arrival, the attentive front desk person promptly gave us a map and pointed out things of interest nearby. Our room was clean and perfect for our stay. The one drawback (for some) is that there was a minaret right outside our window. Our window opened with a view of the sea. We did go to the on-site restaurant for dinner. The menu did not include anything inventive or special, but the food was reasonably priced, fresh and delivered with good service. The breakfast in the morning was one of the better ones during our 2 week stay in Turkey (and visits to 6 other hotels). Also, we did arrange hotel transport through the hotel and had no problems whatsoever. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to go to Istanbul.

Stayed here two times because of its proximity to the sites in Sultanamet. Rooms were basic, but clean. Air conditioning does not work in all rooms - opening the window is not an option because of the nearby street noise and calls to prayer in the early morning. Breakfast was good, but get there early because they do not refill all of the entrees. You can order an omelet for a reasonable price. Very limited fruit selection at breakfast (only apples) and orange juice was made from a drink mix. The person working at the front desk was not familiar with hours of the historic attractions - and gave incorrect information - so don't rely upon them.
Internet connectivity depends upon the location of room relative to their routers (perhaps the central staircase) - so ask for a room that is closer to one of their routers if Internet access is important.

If you haven't been to a European hotel, the rooms are smaller than US hotels and it can get cramped with two people in a double room. Bathrooms were clean and basic. The safe in the room was not maintained and did not work.

If you take the metro to get here, get off at either the Çemberlitaş or Sultanamet stops - it's 5 to 10 minute walk to the hotel. It takes approximately one hour to travel to or from the airport and costs a total of about 6 TL per person. The metro can get crowded, so plant yourself near the door so that you have a chance of getting off.

Paid approximately 95 Euro for a one night stay in a double room for two people in June, 2013. It is possible to negotiate a price of 5 Euro less.

Room Tip: If internet access and A/C are important, ask for a room that has these - if there's a choice.

This week we have been to Istanbul in Hotel Mina. Very kind people, good services, breakfast is very well and the room was very clean. From our room we had a good look over the Sea of Marmara. We can surely recomment this hotel in the middel of the old town.

Room Tip: You can walk to all the important sightseeings in less than 12 minutes.

Excellent location, in a quiet street but within walking distance from the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque and very close to the tramline. Good breakfast, with some traditional dishes. Rooms are indeed smaller, but clean and have everything you need, as most of the time you will be outside anyway.

The position of the hotel is excellent. Near to the center and to the main transport services. However, the room is small, its layout is inconvenient and most of the furniture need renovation (carpets are filthy and permanently dirty, bed is small, not adequate sitting/relaxing equipment. In general the 4* are too much for the hotel, it is really something less than 3*. The price was too high.

Our family of four stayed in the Hotel Mina for three nights in early April 2013. The location was magnificent! It was about five minutes from the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque and about 15 from the Grand Bazaar. Ten minutes to Topkapi Palace. It was quiet, clean, and a very nice breakfast. Breakfast room has a great view of the city. Wonderful thick towels in the bathroom. Having said all the good points: it was rather expensive. We had a family room on the 1st floor, no view to speak of, and construction outside one of our windows.. Staff was helpful, if asked. Water pressure for hot water was not great at high use periods. Our bathroom could have used some updating, especially the shower faucet. Last word, location is everything and this hotel has it!

Room Tip: Not sure if any of the rooms have a view, maybe up top?

I'm a bit late in writing this review...We stayed here in April of 2012. And overall we were quite pleased with the hotel. Great location in Old Istanbul; within walking distance to Hippodrome, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Great bang for the buck. We left there to fly to Izmir, and then woruld be coming back to Istanbul ,but couldn't stay at this hotel on last leg due to unavailability. My friend accidently left a souvenier bag there and they held on to it for us for the 3 days we were gone. Then we swung by to pick up on way to different hotel. Nothing was missing and we were very impressed with the service. Istanbul so far is my favoirte city in the World and I hope to go back sooner, rather than later. I would stay at Hotel Mina again
