Good and tidy. Two min walking to Taksim Sq. The staff were helpful ! The only disadvantage is the hotel located inside a very crowded and busy street full of restaurants and hotels ! If you are driving a car you may need a help from the hotel staffs to get in front of the hotel since all entrances to hotel location are blocked by police to prevent cars getting inside !

Room Tip: Try to get a room away of the elevator door.

Write at the heart of Istanbul, Taksim Square, a small boutique kind of an hotel. They say its always full but the special 125€ per person was expensive comparing to 150€ at The Ritz Carlton.
The staff is friendly and helpful. I stayed for 4 nights and can't complain that it was bad. Would I choose it next time? .... Maybe.

Room Tip: Chhose 103, 203, 303... They are quite.

I travelled to Istanbul for a Congress and the Nippon hotel was on the list of approved hotels for the conference. The Congress was at the Harbiye Cultural Centre and Museum, an easy 10 minute walk from the hotel. Rates for a hotel of this quality were competitive.

First, the hotel was quick to respond to all email correspondence. They arranged for shuttle transport from and to the Airport (40Euro each way; charged to hotel bill). Everyone at the front desk was very helpful and polite, with excellent English. Directions from the front desk staff on how to take the Tram/Funicular system to get to the Old City were clear and easy to follow. Given the traffic in Istanbul, I would highly recommend always using public transit when possible and avoiding taxis! The trams are easy to navigate.

We had a room on the 7th floor with two single beds, it was spacious and always well cleaned each day. Given the proximity to Taksim square, I think it is impossible to escape the noise at night-time!

Unlike many European hotels, breakfast was NOT included in the room rate. So at 15 Euro, it was a bit pricey. However, the selection of foods and service was very good. There is free wifi in the hotel room and we never had a problem connecting. There is a small business centre with three accessible computers and a printer, so that was helpful.

Hotel is on a street with many other hotels, restaurants and small shops. About a 5-10 minute walk to Taksim square and Ikstikal street.

Would have no problems staying at this hotel again.

Spent a few days at this hotel whilst attending a conference in Istanbul. Very close to Taksim Square (central transport hub). Hotel is modern and staff very friendly and attentive. Room a reasonable size, although second floor rooms can be a bit noisy from street below. Free use of business facilities and wi-fi. Breakfast had plenty of choice.

The old town is about 40min walk away across the river, but plenty of good restaurants within a 15min walk, and many right beside hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for room on higher floor or not overlooking main street

We were a family of 6 adults who stayed at nippon for 4 nights in the first week of september. We were warmly welcomed with "turkish delight" sweets and the check in process was swift.
The reception and the concierge are very good and helpful in getting reservations to the hammam/dinner/clubs etc and also recommending places to go.
The hotel location is very good as taksim square and ishtikal street are 5 minutes away and other shopping areas are 5 minutes by taxi. We liked the big and spacious rooms and the breakfast buffet was also very nice. It is a regular "big city hotel" and travellers should not expect a resort type service...
As mentioned in other traveller reviews, we did not like the "sultana dance and dinner show" as recommended by the hotel and we walked out as soon as we got inside, and we were not charged anything. Also, on the hotels recommendation, I tried the tarihi galatasaray turkish bath hammam place, (spent 100 lira) but they do not provide good service. So please study other options, ask what is going to be offered and then go for it.
The concierge told us about the "ibdi iipekci " street and "citys mall" and other streets near there which had much better shopping then any of the famous malls in istanbul. Thus proved very helpful.
The hotel also offered and provided us a baggage service (40 euro irrespective of the number of bags) wherein we could leave our bags with the hotel for 2-3 days (while we travelled to cappadoccia and back) and they sent our baggages with a person to the istanbul airport when our flight landed back from cappadoccia. This was a unique and a very beneficial service that we got that saved us a 50% money when compared to leaving the bags at the istanbul airport "cloak room" service.

Room Tip: the walls are quite thin and you can hear babies crying or couples arguing in the neighbouring rooms...

excellent location as u can visit all places. its more of a business hotel n not a touristy one. but one thing tht was not appreciated was the external things they refer about like the hammam n the traditional dance with dinner (sultana's), both the places were not good so it is better to find better places. rooms are nice n clean and the breakfast is also vast. be ready to tip the staff because they make it obvious.

Room Tip: there is no good view from any room.
