Our first visit to Istanbul. Good location for getting to different parts of the city easily by public transport. Quality-price ratio fine. Specially appreciated the covered roof terrace with a view for breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful.

Booked this hotel on Jetsetter for a good price. Picked it because it is small, designed by Philip Staark and is steps from Istikal Street which is a long pedestrian street in a good neigborhood filled with shops and restaurants. We had room 402. Perfect corner room with a queen sized bed. The hotel is a 19th century mansion converted into just 22 rooms. Breakfast is served on the top floor, open terrace. There is a vintage elevator that serves the 4 floors, not the top floor. The hotel does not face the street, so locating it initially is a bit tricky. Also, there are several stairs to the front door from the street, so if mobility is an issue, this is not the right hotel to select. And stairs are required to be climbed to get to the top floor terrace for breakfast. Our room had wonderful views of Galata Tower and the Bosphorus. Charming room. Not big, but plenty of space for a two day tour of Istanbul. The hotel has a useful street map of the city at the front desk. The personnel were extremely helpful with dinner reservations, directions, and making us a car reservation for our flight home at the end of the trip. The hotel offers very good value as it is located in a perfect location. The Tunel Metro entrance is directly in front of the hotel.

Room Tip: Get a corner room to get views of both Galata Tower and the sea.

My husband and I have just come back from a trip to Istanbul. We stayed for a week at the Galata Antique Hotel and we loved it. It's right in the heard of the most happening area in town, but tucked away in a quiet part of it, which is ideal. The staff were wonderful. They did their utmost to help with anything we needed help with. They spoke good English and communication was not a problem. Our room was beautifully decorated, classy and spacious. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Sheets and towels were changed every day. And the breakfast terrace had the best views towards the old town. If you do decide to go there, you must try the little restaurant on the left at the top of the stairs, Asmalimescit Dürümcüsü. The food is wonderful (simple but very tasty and fresh) and the owners Serkan and Turker are the most amazing people you'll ever meet. They made our trip even more special. We could have sat there all night chatting with them.

Room Tip: If you choose the 'antique' room, ask for a room on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th floor, as the one on...

Rooms are small but well organized. The top level cafe where free breakfast is served provides an excellent view of the city and the Bosphorus. Few minutes walk from Istaqlal street where all the nice restaurants, bars, and shopping center are. Taqsim Square is only one subway stop away.

I first stayed at Galata Antique Hotel eight years ago for a long weekend and again this year for one week in May and a long weekend in June. The facilities in this beautifully restored palatial home are very fine but it is the staff's invariable solicitousness and efficiency that prompts me to endorse Galata Antique Hotel as a desirable destination located steps from Sishane Metro Station and around the corner from Tünel on Istiiklal. Room rates are reasonable, the staff outstanding, and the facilities quite fine. Breakfast on the rooftop affords you a wonderful view encompassing Galata Tower and the entire Asian panorama.

Beautiful hotel in beautiful part of istanbul. Surrounded by restaurants and bars and the Oxford street of istanbul nearby. Easy walking distance to all main sights. Staff very helpful and they gave all the women a red rose on valentines day which was a lovely touch. I could see galata tower from our balcony. Breakfast was delightful- continental with hot food to order and lots of Turkish cuisine. The breakfast room had views over the whole city. Spectacular. Definitely worth it for a special occasion!

A charming hotel with a friendly staff and excellant quality of services.
The hotel is ideally located close to the funicular and Pera and Beyoglu districts, and also a 15-minute walk from Taksim Square or a 5 min walk from Galata Tower.
Not to forget the magnificent panorama of the breakfast rooftop room, which allows to contemplate many of the touristic sights to see in the city.

Room Tip: There is only one room with a balcony, if you're lucky you may be able to have it...
