My hotel stay at Erboy was perfect. I cannot think of a better choice of stay when visiting Istanbul. Will highly recommend this place to anyone I know who will be visiting the city.

I arrived late on the first day and there was no room availability in the new wing (I requested for this before hand). However, my stay at room 1505 in the old wing was still as pleasant as I hope and I have been extremely pleased with my overall stay.

Erboy has it all - unbeatable location to attraction sites and restaurants, helpful staff, very clean and peaceful rooms with strong water pressure and hot water, good wifi signal, hearty breakfast every morning and a very wonderful welcoming ottoman dinner at the Pasazade Restaurant (make sure you cite Turkey Trip Planner to get this perk!). I believe guest will also get free one-way transfer from Ataturk Airport if stay for more than X days.

They have a rooftop terrace - however, it wasnt open during my visit. I believe it is only open when the weather becomes warmer (consistently) starting around mid-May through September. Nevertheless, nothing should stop you from going up to take a peek!

My sister and I stayed for 4 nights here in April, which appears to be a really busy time for Istanbul! The staff (all we came across) were very friendly and extremely helpful and spoke very good english. Superb buffet breakfast - couldn't ask for more. Room was clean and quiet - drawer space could be increased, but our room had a large safe big enough for a laptop. Free wi-fi and also use of computers & printer in reception. Lovely roof terrace with bar service from the restaurant below and very convenient location!

Room Tip: Our room was at the back, with a very small window but quite quiet.

had a personal recommendation to stay here and it proved correct. Great location in the old city, very close to all the major attractions, easy walk to good restaurants and the Fish market and its restaurants nearby. Extremely friendly and very helpful staff. Rooms not overly large and bathrooms good; but we did manage to get a room with fridge and extra chair (actually a pull out bed - #1304. Free wifi with excellent coverage. Breakfasts were reasonable without being very good, hotel restaurant excellent, especially the lamb! Free transfers from the airport available for stays of 3 days or more. If we can get back to Istanbul again (and what a great city it is) no hesitation in returning to the Erboy. It may only be 3* but it is at the top of the tree for value, comfort, service and location.

My wife and I stayed at the Erboy for 4 nights and found it to be a great place for first timers in Istanbul which can be a daunting city. Our airport collection arranged by the hotel was perfect and saved the usual 'find the hotel' problem that can blight the start of any holiday and the friendliness and speed of our check in was impressive. Our room on the ground floor was compact but enough space for two for a few days and we had a lot of clothes, there were french windows opening to the street one floor up at the back, the bed was comfortable and big, the bathroom was of a reasonable size and spotlessly clean with a great shower. The housekeeping staff did a great job keeping it all changed and laundered. The tea, coffee and kettle along with fresh water in the room was a bonus too as sometimes all you need to do is sit in your room for a while with a cuppa to get your breath back in a city this size. The reception staff were extremely helpful when we had a query, usually about transport or directions, we didn't have any 'hotel' problems at all for them to deal with. Breakfast was basic but tasty with something for everyone and in a city with food as amazing as Istanbul it only needs to be sustenance until you can get to one of the local cafe's for pastry goodness. The free use of a couple of computers in the lobby with internet was useful for checking last minute places to eat etc. The location is superb for doing the tourist trail and the T1 tram stops at the end of the street which takes you directly to, or links with other transport for all of the major attractions and walking to these is also a no brainer by simply following the tram lines you can't get lost. We departed the Erboy early in the morning and the reception arranged for the hotel's private car to transport us (around £25) to the airport which we pre paid at the desk which seemed a more secure method than using a local taxi, the reception also arranged for a couple of sandwiches for our journey as we were missing breakfast which saved us a bit on airport food. All in all the Erboy is a good standard 3 star hotel for people on a budget who don't want to go budget with mainly middle aged Europeans and Americans as guests, no grief, no noise and no worries.

My mother and I stayed at the Erboy Hotel from March 17-25, 2013. I booked the Erboy because of the good Trip Advisor rating and because it was located close to all the major sights in the historical Old Town. The hotel turned out to be an excellent choice! The staff at the front desk were friendly, extremely knowledgeable and efficient. They spoke English and went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. When our twin, non smoking room had a lingering smell of nicotine, Ms. Ayse Sancak, the Guest Relations Manager made sure we were moved the next day to a lovely triple room. Room (#1502) had a wonderful view of the Topkapi Palace and the Asian side of Istanbul. It had a mini-bar-fridge, safety box and was spacious and clean. A delicious buffet breakfast was included in the price of the room. Because we booked our room for more than three nights, we were offered a complementary transfer to the hotel from the airport as well as a complementary sumptuous dinner in their Pasazade restaurant.

One of the best parts of staying at the Erboy is its fabulous location. Out the front door to the right and two short blocks down the street is a mini mart that stocks a variety of snacks and a selection of cold beer and wine. Out the back door to the left are a multitude of restaurants, shops and a non-touristy hamman. If you zigzag for another ten minutes you will arrive at the Spice Bazaar as well as the ferry terminals for Bosphorus cruises. The Gulhane tram station is a short three minutes walk from the hotel. If you take it or follow the tracks up hill you reach all of the major sights in the Old Town including the Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Cistern and Grand Bazaar. If you follow the tracks down hill you reach the Spice Bazaar, ferry terminals and bridge to the Asian side of Istanbul.

My mother and I really enjoyed our time in Istanbul and on our next visit we will definitely stay at the Erboy Hotel, a gem in an excellent location!

Room Tip: Room #1502 is a triple room but it's worth paying extra if you originally wanted a twin room. I...

We decided to stay at Erboy during our last night in Istanbul as we had some problems with the apartment we had booked and our friend who was travelling with us happened to be staying there as well. When we made our reservation over the phone, we were quoted a higher price than what our friend was quoted when she spoke to reception that morning.

However after checking in, the lady that our friend spoke to modified our booking to ensure that we received the price that she quoted. She didn't have to do this (the price difference was only a few Euros) but we were very grateful when she told us.

Besides that the staff were also very helpful with any questions that we had and when they didn't have the answers they would call the right people to get the information for you. They also provide airport transfers for 7 Euros (at set times during the day) per person for one way. I think if you stay 3 nights or more you receive one free airport transfer as well. They also have an Instabulkart which you can borrow from reception for their public transport system in Istanbul (you pay a cheaper fare with the card compared to the standard token system).

Other facilities include WiFi (which had a strong signal within the rooms as they have separate routers for each floor and reception) and also 2 computers in the lobby one of which is connected to a printer if you need to print boarding passes etc.

The rooms themselves are fairly comfortable and was sufficient for the two of us (not particular spacious but not too small either). The bathroom was good with your standard toiletries provided.

What we probably liked most about the hotel was the location - it is a 2 minute walk to the tram stop (Gulhane) and about a 15-20 minute walk to all the major attractions (Blue Mosque, Haghia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazzar and the ferry services).

All in all it was a great stay and we only wished we had stayed there for our whole trip instead!

Had a lovely 2 night stay. Location of hotel couldn't be better - walking distance from main attractions, right be a tram stop and surrounded with restaurants and shops.

Breakfast buffet is basic but plentiful. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Rooms were simple but very clean and comfortable.

Great value for your money!
