Excellent location - walking distance to Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque.... almost everything for a first visit to Istanbul. Tram station (T1 line) is just down the street.
Free one way transport from or to Ataturk airport if you are staying 3 nights or longer.
Breakfast is very good, served from 7 to 10.30 for long sleepers.
Room (twin) was good, very clean.
Staff is very friendly and at service 24/7

We visited in March - we stayed for 5 nights, the staff were great and very helpful. The rooms sizes were good for a family of 4. The hotel is in a great location - walking distance from the Hagia Sofia ,Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace etc ...also very close to the tram lines to the new city(100m) - 20 min tram ride to Taksim square. Lots of restuarants and little shops nearby - actually the little shops are far cheaper than the over-priced Grand Bazaar.

We stayed here for 5 nights. The hotel is walking distance to the old part of Istanbul (Topkapi, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque). Because we had stayed for 5 nights and had a party of 5, we recieved a free supper at the hotel restaurant, which happens to be one of the best restaurants in Istanbul. The food was absolutely amazing and we had a fantastic time. One of the best hotels I've stayed in.

Room Tip: Check with the hotel if any specials are available that include a free supper

I stayed for 3 nights and the hotel even offered complimentary one way airport transfer which was superb! They picked me up from arrival gate and guided me to my respectively driver outside waiting. The process was very smooth despite them speaking limited English. Very impressed with their efficiency. There was no messing about.

Check in was quick and receptionist were very polite and friendly. In fact very honest and even told me not to waste my money in tours around the Sultanahmet area where everything was walking distance and I could just do the tour by myself. No hard selling of their tours available at the counter- but did politely offered for any help if needed. They were professional and straight to the point with concise explanation and answer- which is very rare in Istanbul because I found most men in Istanbul are very sleazy (in Sultanahmet area) and will somehow try to make some lame jokes in a conversation.

Bonus point- if you pay in cash you get 7% discount! Remember that!.

Kudos to the receptionist lady who was very conscientious because my friends were looking to move into Erboy for their last night of stay hence I enquired on behalf of them on the room rate for one night where I was told 74 euros/night by the lady. But when my friends rang to book , they were told a higher rate but when they checked into the hotel, the kind lady noted they were charged a different rate from what she told me and she quickly changed it to the original rate she told me. How kind! She actually took the effort to check and make the changes. Thats what I call great customer service!

The room size was average, I would say it was comfortable for two person. Has all the basic necessity such as tea/coffee facilities with one bottle of filtered water, safe, tv, bathroom amenities, hairdryer. Fantastic water pressure of the shower which turned showering a joy after a tiring day. Personal welcome letter from hotel manager with direct number if there's any problem. Firm bed with pretty firm pillows which I was not used too but got it changed the next morning by the room maid on the floor. Even she was very pleasant despite our language barrier but at least she understood what I wanted. =)
Strong wifi signal in the room and lobby!

Breakfast was basic but I would say it is pretty good for a budget hotel. They had hot food eg french toasts, sausages, fried vegetables, boiled eggs, potatoes wedges. A variety of cereals, breads and jams. A counter of salads and cold cuts. A selection of teas by Twinnings, freeze dried coffee, filtered coffee and hot milk. Very helpful staffs explaining food ingredients to vegetarian hotel guests. They really took the effort to make you feel at home.

Location: Sirkeci area. Just a stroll away from Gulhane station. A corner away from Hodja Pasha- cultural centre to watch belly dances/performance. Various good and cheap eateries around with local flair. Of course there are many touristy eateries around too with sky high price- my advice is to wander around further.

IMPORTANT TIPS: the hotel does offer ISTANBULKARD ( for the tram/funicular/metro) for a deposit of 10 TL and you can top up later. The card costs 6 TL and you need to top up after that to use it.

They offer umbrellas too during rainy days- you don't have to pack your umbrella!

Airport shuttle bus with scheduled bus which cost 6 Euros/ 14 TL pp.

Private transfer of 25 Euros/ 50 TL (flat rate) in a minivan (7-8 ppl).

Very thin walls- if you are a light sleeper, remember to bring your ear plugs! You can hear ppl coming back or ppl next door if they are chatting loudly. Generally the area is quite quiet at night. But do ask for a quiet room facing the side street and away from elevator.

There is a small minimart opposite selling basic necessity eg bottled water, snacks.

In conclusion, this is the best budget hotel I ever stayed with such great and caring staffs! They do deserve to win the Tripadvisor award 2013. Keep it up!!!

We stayed there 5 nights - the price, location and service are outstanding. The hotel staff is very helpful, and it's a good idea to ask them for tips about restaurants and places to visit. The tours they offer come with a discount and are professional and informative. The breakfast was very good too. The backside room was small but more than enough - they offered to upgrade us to a front view room, which we declined but we appreciated the offer just the same!
Very good value for money!

Not only was the price and location amazing, but the staff was also great. I don't have any complaints as we had a pleasant stay. Sure the room was small, but who cares? Really, if you spend most of the time in the hotel while in Istanbul, then you truly will have wasted your time. There is so much to see in this beautiful city. All the must see sights are within walking distance, and if you need to go somewhere far, the tram is right there for you. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The breakfast was a big plus.
