“Comfortable”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

This was the only hotel I could sleep like a baby. The bed was comfortable, the people were nice and I FINALLY could take a HOT bath. They understand everything I say in english, and they know how to TALK (believe it or not, this is very hard here in Turkey, even in hotels). I went to a lot of different hotels and they were all very cold and I couldn't feel comfortable. I was very happy when I found out me and my family were coming back to this amazing hotel. It feels good to walk all day knowing that in the night i have the chance to take a nice bath and sleep and a warm bed. Also, the location is perfect. It's near a restaurant called "Hatay", that is one of the bests in Istanbul (with a fair price). Totally recommended :)

This was my second visit and it continues to impress me for the excellent standard of cleanliness and service, the rooms are a little smallish but comfortable. The little touches like a great guest relations manger and a great daily whats on (or not) in Istanbul newsletter at breakfast are standards well above their 3 star rating. An my highest praise goes to breakfast its self, an always well stocked buffet of great quality and the delight of superb honey served on the comb direct from the beehive. What a way to start the day !

Just returned from 7 nights at Erboy hotel and it was a very pleasant stay!
On arrival we were given tea along with a good introduction of the hotel and what is nearby! Our room was very clean, a little smaller than what we expected however it was exactly what we needed for a base as we were out for most of the day!

The hotel is right near Gulhane station which has all the links you need, plus it gets you to the airport in around an hour and costs much less than what a cab costs!

The location was really good, right by all the main attractions and the hotel staff were very helpful on how to get to places.
We also went out of Istanbul for a day and they got our breakfast ready as we had to leave very early before breakfast opened and gave us all the information we needed!

The hotel offers free wifi which worked well and also they let you print for free!

The breakfast was ok, not great but was good enough for what you pay for! We did not eat at the hotel restaurant but herd good things!

Overall the hotel was very good, clean, good location and the staff were very helpful and friendly!
I as recommend this hotel and stay again if I ever visit Istanbul!

My wife and I have just returned from a very pleasant four nights in the Erboy hotel. We had (smallish) room on the 5th floor overlooking the street at the front of the building, which we liked as it had a reasonably open outlook. There is a refurbishment programme currently going on in all of the corridors but the work did not disturb us at all. Whilst the service is helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean and well looked after by the maids, breakfast is plentiful (but quite Turkish), arguably the best part about the hotel is the location - easy walking distance to all the main tourist sites, good restaurants, trams, ferries etc. Also, having a good WiFi connection was ideal for us as we did not want to incur the high mobile phone charges to the UK.
There is a panoramic vista from the roof terrace restaurant which, sadly is only open as a restaurant in the Summer months but you can still go up and catch the lovely sunset views, which we did. We had a very nice meal on one of the evenings in the Pasazade restaurant on the ground floor (see separate review).

Room Tip: We liked the 5th floor.

The Erboy Hotel is very centrally located, within decent walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and the Grand Bazaar. The Front room face the street and can be a little noisy, so ask for a room in the back. The rooms are a little dated, but the service and the buffet breakfast certainly make up for that. The bathrooms were all very generous. We even had dinner in the restaurant one evening and the food was delicious. This would be a hotel that I would definitely come back to the next time I am in Istanbul

We arrived exhausted after a long trip. We could book in early and have breakfast at no extra cost. Because we could catch up on our sleep, we actually had an extra day in Istanbul. My spectacles broke and we were referred to an optometrist who repaired it free of charge. I was worried about being appropriately dressed for the Blue Mosque, but the staff quickly put my mind at rest. The breakfasts were lovely with lots of fresh honey, bread and lovely cheese. We walked to The Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and most of the other sites. I never felt unsafe in the vicinity of the hotel. Our room was small, but this can be expected when staying in this kind of hotel in an old part of the city. We were on the third floor and there were at least two families with young children on the same floor. The rooms must be well insulated, because we never heard any noise.
