If you're looking for location, location, location then this hotel is perfect as we walked to all the major sights. Our room looked directly out at Hagia Sopia, the Blue Mosque and the Cisterns, which are on the same street, as well as shopping, shopping, shopping. When we wanted to travel further, public transportation was right outside the door.

The room was comfortable and clean for the 2 of us and the price was very reasonable.

One suggestion for the hotel would be to add some "variety" to the breakfast buffet as it was the same daily for the week we stayed there. We'll be back!

Room Tip: The view of Hagia Sophia!

The hotel room was comfortable and clean. The included breakfast was only average. The price was moderate. The outstanding feature was the view from the window overlooking the Hagia Sophia. The location was also excellent for the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the cisterns.

Room Tip: Make sure room overlooks the Hagia Sophia.

You cannot stay in a better location in Istanbul, a stones throw from Hagi Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, the Spice Market, the Grand Bazaar, the Cisterns, incredible shopping, and on and on. Public transportation is at the hotel door and you can get anywhere you'd want to go in Istanbul. The rooftop restaurant is wonderful and the views are out of this world. Some rooms are on the smaller side (particularly the top floor balcony rooms overlooking Hagi Sophia and The Blue Mosque), but all are extremely clean and well-serviced. The staff are very professional and extremely helpful and speak a multitude of languages (including fluent English). All rooms have Internet connections and air conditioning you can control from the room.

Room Tip: Many rooms have views of the Hagi Sophia and The Blue Mosque, so if views are important to you, ask...

This is the third time we have stayed at the And Hotel. It is right in the center of the Sultanahmet district - a one minute walk to the cistern, three minutes to Aya Sofya, five to the Blue Mosque and maybe ten to Topkapi. The rooms are small but very clean. Just what you need for the small amount of time you would want to be in the room.

Room Tip: Request a room facing the Aya Sofya. From your window you can see Topkapi Palace, Aya Sofya and the...

As others have commented, the hotel is very well located with a stroll to major sites such as Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque and the Cistern plus an easy walk to the Spice Bazaar.
Rooms are small but adequate, breakfast is a satisfactory buffet style with some fresh fruit every day, boiled eggs, cereal etc.
Reception staff all had reasonable English and were generally friendly and helpful.
Our room also had a good view.

Our major disappointment was the restaurant - we made a reservation and wanted to take a bottle of champagne for a special occasion and said we would pay a corkage fee. The restaurant flatly refused and said we had to drink their wine. They had no champagne and proposed a bottle of Turkish wine as a substitute (for Turkish Lira 160 - around US$80). Not knowing much about Turkish wine I declined and as they refused to let us bring our wine, even with an extra charge, we cancelled the dinner. They lost the corkage fee plus 3 dinners as a result, but did not seem to care at all.

This was in contrast to the rest of the service we received. Others in the hotel told us that the restaurant food was expensive relative to quality so perhaps we had a lucky escape.

Sometimea i feel not responding to such reviews should mean much more than writing a response. I can not understand how these guests are that much in comfort to wright such a review. I am thinking of a restaurant only renting its tables and selling nothing. Cool as ice isn't it. Bring your drinks and food party! I also wonder if you could do it where you go after cancelling your reservation at the hıtel's restaurant? There 20-30 different kinds of wines in our restaurant i find very meanless that you mentioned one and its price. Would it be better if they said the minimum wine rate as corcage? What would be satisfying? There are lot to write for this review but i found this review harmful and hereby requesting to be removed. I am really very dissapointed with tripadvisor to publish such a review by tripadvisor!
Apoligies from everyone

The And hotel in Sultanahmet (Old Town) in Istanbul is a fine place to stay for a first introduction to the splendours of Istanbul's Old Town. The Aya Sofia is practically in the back yard and the Blue Mosque is a short walk. This hotel is located well and the service of the front desk staff is charming, they are extremely helpful and many of the staff speak fluent English if that is a necessity. Our room was really small however, and next time I stay with them I think I will ask for a bigger room. The view from the room was pretty special though, although be aware that the call to prayer occurs throughout the day and night. The restaurant upstairs, while highly rated, is expensive. My husband and I did enjoy going there for a late night raki, after dinner elsewhere. There are many dining options nearby. All in all, I would recommend the hotel to couples travelling.

Dear Guest,

Old town is surrounded with many previous mosques and this is a good experience for whom visiting Istanbul. I know it wakes up who is not familiar with but this is the beauty of experiencing a foreign culture.
You are very welcome you all to our restaurant who wants to dine or enjoy a drink with our priceless view of old and new face of Istanbul.

This hotel´s location really helped to make our time in Istanbul even more memorable. On arriving back in our room (310), we could open the large windows and continue enjoying a beautiful view over the Golden Horn towards Galata. Interestingly, we had taken some time locating a hotel with a view (from the room) of the Hagia Sophia and had organised this with the hotel manager by e-mail. We were initially disappointed when told this room would be unavailable until the next day.
However, we loved the view from 301 so much, we decided to stay put !
The manager, Nassif, is a charming, helpful young man who speaks good English and insisted that we had dinner one evening ,on the hotel, in their rooftop restaurant, which has amazing 360 degree views.
We would certainly recommend AND to anyone visiting Istanbul.

Room Tip: Rooms facing towards Galata have fantastic views too.
