The location is superb (you can see from your window how long is the line at Hage Sofia) but that's it.

We specifically booked a one-bed room; we got two beds joined by a mattress... That, for them, supposedly was one bed.

But the worst is the bathroom facilities. After long cold days of walking around the city, we of course wanted to take a hot shower... and all we could get were 40 seconds of hot water, 50 of mild, 10 of cold as hell, and so forth. When we mentioned this at the front desk, they did not seemed surprised and gave us the magic solution: "call when you're about to take a shower and we will switch the hot water on..." And that's what we did.

Calling EVERY TIME we got 40 seconds of hot boiling water, 30 of hot water and 30 of normal temperature water. But wait, there's more: if the people staying at room next door opened a faucet... forget it. The water will be ice cold for as long as they have the water running.

(BTW: we were quite aware of the actions of our neighbors because the bathroom has no sound isolation whatsoever)

And to top it all, as we were leaving, we looked under the bed to check if we were leaving something and found a pacifier and lots of papers and things... Yes! We got to be archeologists! Would that be there from the times of Constantine I??

Room Tip: Don't boook room 404

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking your time to write a review. It is the first review we got negative reponse for water in the rooms. What can we say. Just apoligies. If any other rooms had this problem and told it to reception we definately would take a look more closely but as i wrote it is the first time we got such a feedback.

Sorry again.

Best regards,
Necip Erbas

I stayed at this hotel as part of a tour and I loved it. Location was just perfect. Very close to many of Istanbul's famous attractions including Aya sofia, blue mosque and basilica cistern to name a few! All of these were just a very short walk away!
Aya Sofia is so close it can be seen from some of the rooms.. it was amazing!
As for the hotel itself. It's not a 5 star hotel so don't expect luxury but:
- the rooms were comfortable, clean and had nice decor
- friendly and knowledgeable staff
- Shops, cafes and restaurants are right outside
- Tram stop just a short walk away
- Breakfast was good and had variety

Overall, I recommend this hotel. You can't beat location and I had a very enjoyable stay.

We discovered this hotel through a tour group we joined to begin our visit to Turkey. We stayed there again after the tour was over, and plan to do so again when we return to this superb country next year. The rooms are by no mean spacious, but are certainly adequate. The service is excellent, from the chambermaid to the head fellow at the front desk. The location just can't be beat --- just a few hundred metres from the best-know sites of the old city. The price is modest, considering the value you are getting. The only downside was beyond their control: Because of their excellent location facing the big mosque, we were inevitably awakened every early morning by the call of the muezzin.

Room Tip: The "panorama" rooms cost a bit more, and they're well worth. Great view of the "...

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your time spending to write such a good review. And thank you also for your respect in our culture and religion. As you pointed Old City Center of Istanbul called Sultanahmet is such a place that is all covered with georgeous mosques and they all have calls for pray called Ezan. It happens 5 times a day and starts at 6:00 AM. It is beyond our control but i think it also reminds that you are in Turkiye. Isn't it. It is just something you can not find in many others as traveller's always seek for something that only lives in the visited country. Thank you again for all respects and a happy new year.

Best regards,
Necip Erbas

We recently stayed at the And Hotel in Istanbul. The hotel is small, very clean and attractively furnished. We asked for a room with a view and we got one that had a nice balcony that looked at the Bosphorus. The rooms on the other side looked right at a mosque. Our beds were comfortable and the bathroom was good sized, modern and very pretty. All the sites to see in the area are in walking distance. The mosques and the palace are literally just outside your door. The restaurant on the top floor has a gorgeous view of the Hagia Sophia. The food was just average. The breakfast downstairs is very good and plentiful and the staff is extremely helpful. We took a bus/boat trip on one of the days that we were there and the hotel arranged for us to be picked up at the door. We would stay at the And again if we ever return to Istanbul.

Room Tip: Higher floors have the views. The ones in the front look directly at the Hagia Sophia.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you very much for your review. We are just honured. We have changed our cousine at the roof top restaurant. As you know we have an unbeatable view of Old City and now we are just focused on the food we are serving to combine both dine&view. We are waiting your visit to taste our new cousin.

We have stayed there twice, once with a tour and once on our own. The location is very convenient. We stayed on the 4th and 5th floors with the view of Hagia Sofia and enjoyed seeing it and the Blue Mosque from our window. The 5th floor has a balcony on which we sat to enjoy the views. The vacant lot next to the hotel is going to be a green space, and work was starting on it during our last visit (11/2012).
The rooms are small but very nicely decorated. The breakfast is adequate (they have a fresh coffee machine, which we found rare in Turkey). Signs indicate you can have eggs to order for an additional charge, but hard-boiled eggs are included on the buffet, along with breads, cheeses, fruit, olives, tomatoes, etc. We just went with the buffet.
We had 2 meals at the upstairs restaurant. One was very good; one was average.
We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
We have never stayed anywhere else in Istanbul, so we can't comment on a price comparison.

Room Tip: We had the panoramic view rooms, which probably cost more. We really didn't spend much time in...
