What a great place, with an amazing and welcoming staff! The location is perfect if you're looking to be in the old city - easy walk to the Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and a great selection of restaurants and shops nearby. The rooms are comfortable, a reasonable size for the area (we had a triple with 3 twin beds). It's probably an odd thing to call out, but their towels were fabulous - huge and absorbent! The breakfast every morning was a very nice selection of cold cuts, fruits, cheeses, eggs and bread/pastries with yummy yogurt and several types of homemade jams that were wonderful stirred into the yogurt or on toast. Good coffee and juices too. The staff really makes a difference though - always quick to help with any questions whether it be last minute arrangements for the hammam, or recommendations for restaurants. The free internet is a nice bonus too. Be sure to try the restaurant right next to the historia - their mint lemonade is beyond yummy. I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay there when I travel back to Istanbul.

The Hotel Historia was absolutely charming with an ideal location just below the Blue Mosque. I had booked a discount rate online, and they upgraded me to a better room. Some rooms have a sea view, all are very comfortable. The staff even helped me with a complicated bank problem. I recommend it to anyone traveling to Istanbul, and I hope to stay there again.

this is a small (27-room) hotel on four floors with an elevator. Some of the rooms are quite small but very nicely designed to make use of even square inch. Bed was very comfortable and the balcony offered a great view of the Bosphorus. But the best part was the staff - everyone was delightful. and the breakfast room and breakfast garden were delightful. Breakfast was also very good and always included fresh melon, breads, eggs, juices, etc. and of course it is within easy walking distance of great restaurants, shops, and all the old city attractions - although the call to prayer from the Blue Mosque might just wake you up! But what fun! It's that close to everything.

Hotel pick up at airport nice service (only one way if you stay for more than 3 nights). First impression walking into lobby, very grubby carpet (which was cleaned later that week). Room very small but balcony added nice extra space for our week stay - could do with comfortable chairs on balcony, even cheap plastic ones, when I asked for a comfortable chair ONE was brought up immediately (even though there were two of us in room). Bathroom quite sizeable compared to room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Free use of computer in lobby very convenient. Good breakfast included, could do with more tables on outdoor patio there were no tables for 2, only four tables set for 4 and these were mostly used by 2 people only. Had a lot of trouble with airconditioning, every night someone had to come up to fix it. It would've been nice to sleep with door and windows open, but too noisy with trains going by throughout the night and early morning kitchen noises from other hotels and of course very early call to prayer from close by mosque. Also had to close curtains as very bright lights from the mosque's minaret shone right into the room.
Excellent location for walking to all major attractions and to tram. Great restaurants in the area.

Stayed at Historia with 10 and 12 yr old girls. Lovely hotel within walking distance to all the sights and just around the corner is a good range of restaurants and bars. We had a room with a balcony and view to the Bosphorus. Not a lot of space in the room and the bathroom tiny but who cares you spend very little time there. There is a railway line to the rear of the hotel and can be noisy but we were so tired from all the sightseeing we just crashed and didnt hear a thing not even the call to prayer in the morning. What makes this hotel aside from the location is the staff with a special thanks to Bahar who made so accommodating and friendly to our girls. Will certainly stay here again when we return to istanbul

We stayed here for four nights and we very happy with the hotel. It's comfortable and the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. Our original baby cot was unusable but they did their best to remedy the situation, and found a replacement which was fine.
