“Excellent location and value...I will go back.”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

Just returned from a three night stay at the Historia enroute from Bangkok to Kas:
Excellent location, in the Sultanhammet minutes from Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia, Hippodrome, Topkapi and the Grand Bazaar (which is just a little further but well within walking distance).
Excellent value, extremely clean, comfortable, there is a lift and a garden (in the summer), a small room but it was well heated and had air con for the summer, a good shower, a hair dryer, a fridge and a safe, helpful staff, Turkish Breakfast Buffet with a wide choice - hot and cold.
Great value, and if you want a change from Turkish Food I recommend Dobbs, next to the hotel (Asian/Indian) and they also have a gift shop across the street with some alternative options.
Istanbul is FABULOUS and I will stay at the Historia next time I visit .

We with friends stayed in the hotel History in March to 5 days. They gave us a free Shuttle service. The hotel is situated in a quiet location but very close to the center. On the one hand the Windows of the upper floor are on a quiet street, on the other - on the Bosporus Strait. On the beach there passes the railway, but at night trains do not run.The hotel itself is small and very cosy. In small pleasantly furnished rooms very clean. New plumbing and it works fine. In the room there is a mini-bar, Slippers, safety Deposit box, kettle and tea supplies free of charge. In the bathroom there is a soap, shampoo, lotion and other little things. Breakfast varied: scrambled eggs, sausages, salad, greens, cheese, sausage, etc. Staff speaks foreign languages and very friendly. Nice price-quality ratio. Recommend to stay in a hotel History.

Room Tip: Take rooms on the upper floors.

Booked this hotel after reading reviews on Tripadvisor. Excellent, staff very friendly and helpful, hotel clean and made and excellent base for my friend and I to explore the surrounding area as everything is within walking distance. We will definitely be making a return visit later in the year, just hope they can fit us in. Breakfast buffet was excellent with lots to choose, both hot and cold. Just like to say thank you to all the staff for making our stay enjoyable, and for the apple tea while we were waiting for our transfer to the airport.

This was my second visit to this Hotel, it is in a great location, close to several attractions and the main tram line into Istanbul is minutes away. The Hotel is very clean and tidy, and the breakfast has a large choice on offer, and sets you up for the day. The Staff and Manager were fantastic and were prepared to go out of there way to help you, nothing to them was too much trouble.I will definetely go back to see them.Near the Hotel there is numerous Restaurants and Bars offering a wide range of good quality food. Very good value for money!

Room Tip: Top floor rooms benefit from a sea view.

We chose the Historia based on Tripadvisor reviews. The hotel is very well located, being within close walking distance of all the major tourist sights of Istanbul. There are a range of restaurants within close proximity (don't miss the Aloran!) The hotel was clean, with friendly staff and it made an excellent "base camp" for our family. We shared a family room (hubby, myself & 2 teenagers) all in single beds with en suite shower room. It was perfectly adequate with a fridge, air con, hairdryer etc - great value at the price. We didn't have a sea view (unless you stuck your head out of the window !) but that really was not an expectation! Breakfast buffet was excellent, with loads of choice hot & cold. If you choose to stay here, don't miss the fish restaurants at Kumcampi (about a 10-15 minute walk away from the Blue Mosque) -you'll find it on a map! The fish stalls at the back of the sea front restaurants themselves are worth the walk just to see the amazing array of fish! Also the fish sandwiches near the Galata Bridge are fantastic!

Hotel is so very conveniently situated (near Blue Mosque) for many main attractions and also near (easy to use) trams for those further afield. Rooms, although not spacious, are more than adequate and clean and tidy. The staff were absolutely fantastic and very helpful in all matters. Hotel is in a quite area and also near many very good bars and restaurants. An ideal value for money base to visit this fantastic city - and yes I will go back and use again.

Room Tip: Do not use room 204 - next to dining room so can get a little noisy early in morning. Best rooms on...

I `ve stayed at this small hotel more than 10 times during the last years... last time in February 2013 .The rooms and bathrooms are newly renovated , very clean and some of them with seaside.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Most of the monuments ( Hagia Sophia, Topkapi, Blue Mosque, Cisterne) are nearby.
There are many good restaurants and bars around.
You can get a free pick up from the Atatürk airport if you stay more than three nights.
I ´ll be back!
