Enjoyed staying at this small cozy hotel in a room with sea view. It was within a walking distance to many places we wanted to see. Staff was always very friendly and ready to help! Breakfast was good but could be improved by adding some hot breakfast options. Room was small but good enough for sleeping. Balcony was great sit and enjoy the views of Bosphoros.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms worth extra cost!

arived later than expected as we did really struggle to find historia though im sure if we got a taxi rather than a friend giving us a lift we would have been there much quicker. Room wa delightful with mini bar, dressing gown, slippers, complimentary bath and shower all products all as a added extra. The first night here i didnt leep prtly because of mu husbands snoring but also becase you are literaly on the door step of the blue mosque as well as a train track at the back of the hotel however on night 2,3 and 4 i slept fine and just drifted back off when the mosque finished. The breakfst was a lot better than hotel i have stayed at in other parts of turkey and there was a large variety.
I dont understand how people can complain really about this hotel. The mini br replenished daily and the prices was all listed and was comparible to markets and local restraunts etc. The hotel staff spoke enough english to understand what we needed. yes the bathroom had no ventalation and was quite musky but wasnt unbearable. The ceanlines of the rooms was great all white fresh bedding daily. Food for breakfast was fresh and was really nice. Cant say a bad word about historia and if people want to complain as in older posts about noise from mosque etc then maybe choose a hotel where u have too walk miles nd miles to get to the tourit attractions.

Room Tip: we had a sea view room

I stayed here for 4 nights in the 2nd week of November 2012. Driving towards the hotel I thought fantastic, what a beautiful location. Entering the hotel, again I was really happy, it's was absolutly spotless! Staff were very welcoming and polite! The rooms were lovely and clean, the only downside to the room I could say was the size of the bath. Far to small for a relaxing soak. The beds were extremely comfortable and sheets were of a good quality. The only thing I was suggest for this hotel that would have made me 100% happy would be the breakfast buffet. What was served was fine infact I really enjoyed it. The downfall with 3/4 mornings was that there didn't seem to be a member of staff who was just designated for this breakfast buffet, they all had other jobs which meant the bread basket was empty and orange juice ran out occasionally. A very small buffet and it would be very easy to check and bring more food when it ran out. And again, I always found a clean table however there were several dirty tables surrounding it with use plates, cups etc.. If this aspect was improved I would have been 100% happy, saying that I had a lovely time, it's a lovely hotel and if I return to Istanbul in the future I will be staying here. Thank you historia!

Very friendly and helpful staff. As we didn't get the sea view room requested, they gave us the room as soon as it was available as a free upgrade! Staff very good with directions to the bazaars, which was only 10 minutes away. The blue mosque, topkapi palace, town centre, the underground cistern were literally just around the corner, about 2-3 mins away. Excellent location, very close to everything. The bathroom was not the cleanest but it was manageable. The rooms were snug but very comfortable. Could hear the train noises as they went by, but did not disturb during the night. Would definitely stay there again, if not for the hotel but for the environment and the people. The locals are very nice and friendly, our first view had the view of a local street who we made friends with, and they were so very polite and cheerful! Istanbul was amazing place to visit, with so much history and things to see, just every gutted we couldn't stay for longer, as we were only there for 4 days and had so much more to see. If there's any place to visit, it's here!

Room Tip: We saw the rooms on the top floor, they seem to be more posh than the others, so presumably they are...

We spent 3 nights in this beautiful small hotel. Its location is perfect, close to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Topkapi palace, the Hippodrome etc. The room was cleaned everyday and the included breakfast was excellent. The staff could not be more helpful and welcoming, especially Mutlu Bayam and Onur. They booked a trip to Gallipoli for us and because we had to leave very early for the trip, they even packed our breakfast! We would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends!

We spent eight fascinating days in Istanbul, based at the Historia Hotel. Onur Sevgili and his staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Excellent location, near the major sites and easy access to tram, train, bus, and ferries. Pay particular attention to staff recommendations for restaurants in the area (as there are many that are mediocre and expensive) and elsewhere (that we would never have discovered on our own). Breakfast was fine; we ate lunches in the local point and pick eateries; we found food beyond the omnipresent kebob. Beyond the predictable monuments, consider the Koc Museum (transportation), Istanbul Modern (contemporary art), and above all the Museum of Innocence (unique, not to be missed).
