I would very probably stay here again. Really close to Blue Mosque, so it's an easy location if you're cabbing around. Apparently they overbooked so they sent us to another place that was a bit of a weird walk (Lalin) but they covered the cab there and also retrieved our bags in the morning and faithfully put them up in our room for the following three nights. About 10 minutes walking from the closest tram stop. Cigma at the front desk was great and helpful all the time. They do laundry (but, as anywhere, do your delicate stuff by hand!). Overall I really liked this place. There's also often a cat on the front mat to ignore you completely when you return and to not care at all about your day's adventures.

The Erguvan is just off Sultanahmet Square. Great location. The hotel provides a full breakfast on the top floor, including a terrace which has great views of the Borphorus and parts of the city. Rooms are small but clean and fine. The staff is fantastic. Mine Yavuz is the concierge and is extremely knowledgeable and helpful -- whatever you want to see or do, Mine is the go-to person. The receptionist Ciigclen is also very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

The location of Erguvan Hotel is hard to beat. It's only minutes away by foot to the Blue Mosque. The nearest tram station is 7 minutes away and you can walk to the Grand Bazaar. Also, the breakfast spread is heavenly -- Fresh-baked breads, made to order omelette, assortment of cheeses, fresh juice, and several superb varieties of olives.

However, what sets Erguvan Hotel apart from the rest is its cleanliness. The mattress and bed sheets didn't smell like mildew and the upscale amenities in the bathroom were spotless.

It pays to be friendly with the staff because they'll take care of all your sightseeing and travel requests. The receptionist suggested a sightseeing itinerary, highlighted the best routes to take, and wrote the customary cab fares on the map. Tell the taxi driver how much you are willing to pay to your destination BEFORE you get into the cab. Unless you are Chuck Norris or very adventurous, don't go out solo after dark.

Room Tip: Rooms to the interior of the hotel are generally quieter. Show up early for breakfast when everything is fresh.

We stayed here for one night to fly out the next morning early, after a week in Istanbul and a few weeks down the southern coast. It's not big, or modern. It doesn't have a pool, or a gym, or a hamman, and the lift is the smallest on earth.
What is does have on the 6th floor is an intoxicating view over the Bosphorus, esp early in the morning when it looks like glass, before the ferries and container ships have turned the route into a ship's freeway. Or late at night — twinkling nights against a dark sky.
The staff are more than accommodating and v helpful.
It's small and sweet with lovely people, in an easy-to-find location just below the walls of old town, close to everything including the tram to take you to Taxim etc.
In a word charming. Would stay here again without question.

Hotel is in a great location, approx 5 minute walk to major attractions in the Sultanahmet area. Taxi drivers found the location difficult to find so make sure you have the address with you. The breakfast is basic but enough to get you off to a good start. The staff were very helpful and assisted with booking restaurants/tours etc. The rooms are large with air conditioning. The view from the restaurant is lovely although does not provide the view of the Blue Mosque as pictured (at least I couldn't find it).
