My husband and I went to Istanbul for our honeymoon and stayed at this hotel. I am a sucker for all things historic, so staying in a boutique hotel that used to be a pasha's mansion was really fun for me. The architecture is so interesting, and I loved all of the details inside, especially the antiques they chose to display in the hallways and lobby.
The rooms were kind of small and not very luxurious (but very clean and nice), so if you are looking for all of the comforts of a 5-star chain hotel, then you better stay somewhere else. This place has character and charm, though, and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay someplace that was interesting, quiet, calm, and incredibly close to many major tourist attractions. The location is amazing. Situated in the heart of Sultanahmet area, it is about a 5-10 minute walk from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, and the Basilica Cistern. In fact, my husband and I would walk back to the hotel in between seeing sites to use the bathroom and rest for a little bit, so we would be fully energized to see the next place.More
