Our first visit to Turkey, and we landed on our feet at the Ambassador! Right in the centre of Sultanahmet, lots of restaurants on the doorstep, the tram stop just 2 mins walk. Breathtaking views from the 5th floor rooftop terrace, where we had delicious breakfasts (with yummy pancakes cooked by Daria, who also offers omelettes and scrambled egg). Lots of fruit, salads, yoghurts, bread and pastries too. Lift goes up to the 4th floor so you have to walk up to rooms 501 and 502, and the breakfast terrace. We had room 501 which was large and quiet. Would recommend the Anatolian Restaurant, on the same street, and the House of Medusa Restaurant, round the corner on the same street as the Basilica Cistern - both very reasonable. We had an airport transfer (4 of us plus luggage, 60€ from S. Gokcen airport). The hotel staff were very helpful too - they suggested the 4 of us share an IstanbulKart, which is like an Oyster card for tram rides. (Refundable outlay on card is 7TRY, then load it with as much/little credit as you want, it works out at approx. 1.80TRY per person per trip. You swipe it through the entry turnstile, then pass it back to the next person to do the same - saves "buying" 4 cards. We bought ours at the newspaper kiosk by the park near Sultanahmet tram stop.)

Room Tip: 501 was large and quiet - draw the heavy velvet curtains before you go out, though, or the sun will...

We´ve been just back from our first trip to Turkey. While were in Istanbul we´ve stayed at AMBASSADOR HOTEL, the charming & stunning Istanbul´s best located Hotel Boutique. Our arrival was late at night and had to wait till breakfast time to admire the beauty of the site were the Hotel is placed: In the center of everything. On the european side of the city. On the cultural and historic site of Sultanhamet were everything is within walking distance. From the terrace, where breakfast buffet is carefully served, we´ve admire the wonderful views of Sultanhamet Square, Sta. Sophia, Blue Mosque and many others historic monuments, and beyond, the Marmara Sea. Never been in such a friendly and cozy hotel before. Well furnished rooms
-specially #204- and hospitality. But, let me have a special mention to the staff: A1 class all of them. As a commander in chief Mr. Mehmet Altun (the CEO), Erol (Flynn), Ersin and Sinan (front desk reception), Alpay (the soldier) taking care of our luggage as well as room service, Bekir (pronounce Bekier) in charge of transfer links between Airport and Hotel: he knows perfectly when take shortcuts to avoid the hassle of traffic on hard hours in the City. In fact, every one of them were very helpful, reliable and ready to answer any query or solve anything we´re needed. All of them, always doing their best to pleased us, all the time. Besides mentioned facilities, the Ambassador Hotel should be proud to be one of the best, also, concerning its staff. My family and I, are proud to recommend this Hotel to whom it may concern as well as my colleagues in the travel industry. As a former travel agent, the Ambassador Hotel "is a must". Hence, come down, you would´nt have nothing to regret!!

Room Tip: Romm #204 Best in the complex

This hotel has everything you could ever want. But what stands out the most, is the amazing service we received from the staff who went far beyond the notion of Turkish hospitality. First, before we even arrived, I inquired if they might be able to acquire concert tickets for us and they got us 1st row!!!! We were welcomed with apple tea & cake and throughout the week staff took extra strides to make reservations for restaurants, tours, taxis, etc. Sinan at the front desk is an absolute rock star!!! But all staff are extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and generous. Our trip to Istanbul was profoundly enhanced by our choice of hotel. The location was simply outstanding, there's a really great roof deck with lovely views for breakfast & coffee, the food was delightful and the staff were outstanding. Admittedly, my sister-in-law & I were somewhat difficult: changing plans, switching reservations, etc. and Sinan and staff rose to each occasion. We were very grateful for their help and support. We had a great trip, a great experience, which was largely due to the staff organizing everything for us. You couldn't get better service were you at the Four Seasons!

Just got back home from a wonderful Mediterranean/Holy Land cruise. Stayed at this hotel for one night after a grueling 26 hours travel from hon to Istanbul. No problem with the free transfer from airport to hotel, representative of the hotel was at the arrival area as pre arranged. Front desk clerk was efficient, we were treated to a delicious apple tea and cake, a very nice way of welcoming us in the hotel. Our room is spacious, beds comfortable, we practically crashed in and did not wake up till early morning. Breakfast at the roof top was incredible. A lot of choices and delicious entree. I forgot the name of the staff that assisted us with our luggages and served us our welcome tea and cake the day before. he was there again at breakfast to assist us and I would like to say a very big thank you to him. He gave us such special service and attention.Such an asset to the hotel.
We have to tour the city and hotel took care of storing our luggages till we complete our tour. Will definitely stay in this hotel again and is highly recommending it to everyone.

The hotel is just a 2minute walk from the metro station up a little side street filled with restaurants and cafés. When we checked in the hotel, the staff gave us loads of information about the area and some tips of what to see. They then gave us apple tea and cake which was just what we needed after our long journey.

Our room was small, clean and functional. And let's face it on a city break what else do you need? The hotel serves breakfast on the 5th floor which is partially open and you get to see the fantastic views across the city of the blue mosque and aha sofya. The roof terrace was lovely to sit on in the evenings and just soak up the views.

The speakers for the call to prayer for the blue mosque are very close to the hotel and can be heard, but they woke me up on one day out of three and it didn't bother me at all.

Great hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, would return on another visit! Thank you!

The Turkish massage at this hotel is highly recommended! My husband and I tried this one, as it is one of the few places that offers the therapy for couples (sharing the same room). The place is very clean, relaxing and well decorated. You'll get a thorough scrub followed by a body massage (additional service) with an amazing avocado oil. Zeki is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. You'll feel relaxed and new! Try it!
