our 1st visit to Istanbul. 4 of us went for a short Easter break. With so many Hotels to choose from it was rather hard to choose. After trolling through endless hotels we settled on the Ambassador. This is bang in the middle of all the places you would go to Istanbul to visit, lively but once in your room very quit. We have had many travels and experienced many hotels of different ratings. We were very impressed from start to finish. We were welcomed with Apple tea and a short talk on the area. Then taken to our rooms. We had chosen the low end of the budget, as we think rooms are for sleeping in only. But we were upgraded to a room with much more space than expected, as reading from previous reviews about rooms being small. The hotel has a great view from the terrace, where you have breakfast, it overlooks the main square. Each night as a evening start we would have a beer, and the staff would bring us snacks and nibbles without charge. All the staff were so nice. Breakfast was plentiful, rooms well cleaned, general upkeep was clean and tidy. If I am to go back, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
