Stayed here for three nights, we couldn't have picked a better hotel. Location is perfect. Few minutes walk to the Blue mosque and AyaSofia.

At arrival we were offered tea and cake and cookies, reception staff is very nice and helpful.

At any time you will get tea or coffee for free in the lobby. WiFi is good in all areas.
Rooms are not very spacious but nice and clean. Breakfast is amazing. All turkish meze and delights you could wish for, great omelette prepared. Breakfast is served on the top floor with an amazing view over AyaSofia, the Blue mosque and the Bosporus.

Tip #1: The connection to the hotel from Ataturk airport is good enough, so you can save 25€ transfer service from the hotel and pay a little less than 1€ for Metro and Tram connection (M1 til Zeytinburnu 6 stops and T1 til Sultanahmet 15 stops, approx. 1h drive)

Tip #2: Just above the street the restaurant Antalya is amazing and fair priced.

PS: It was my birthday and they got me a cake with candles and sparkles to the room! Awesome staff.

This was my third stay in the Sultanahmet area of Istanbul. Third time was the charm! I stayed here for 5 nights mid November 2013. Loved this little hotel that could not have had a better location! Down a little side road with restaurants and the main sights of the historical area at its doorstep.. as well as a tram stop right outside of the hotel.
Besides the perfect location, the staff were beyond compare.. everyone was genuinely happy.. (I got a smiley face on my omelette for breakfast one day) and more than helpful in every way.. Special thanks has to go to Sezgin.. He was beyond helpful throughout my stay and rescued me from a very embarrassing situation with charm and grace..

Positives for me...
- Location (perfect!)
- Staff
- Terrace (excellent view couldnt get enough)
- Breakfast (great selection and quality)
- Free one way airport transport / taxi
- Price (excellent compared to other hotels I've stayed in this area)

Negatives..
- room decor.. dated but very clean.

This hotel is typical of the area so expect small rooms with minimal storage area.. its not a luxury hotel but location, staff and breakfast make up for it. I would definitely stay here again!

we stayed 3 nights end of december. the location is just great. great views from the sit out on the roof top sunrise and sunset esp. We stayed in family room, sleeps 4 we were 3, adequate space. The staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel also arranges the pick up from the airport and i thought that was great. the buffet breakfast has good selection and the chef make great omelets and last 2 bf the omelets were ready without asking.Everything is walking distance. Our room had a funky smell on arrival (this the 5th floor) which disappeared with opening the windows. I sure will stay her when i go back.

Room Tip: maybe avoid 5th floor

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Ambassador! It is well-priced and located right in the middle of the Sultanahmet, about 5 minutes walk from the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. The rooftop terrace cafe, where breakfast is served and which is open in the winter and the summer, has a very glamorous view of both buildings! The rooms are neat and clean and, although not large, have every standard amenity (minibar, hairdryer, toiletries, etc.) Most importantly, everyone we met at the hotel was so extremely gracious and friendly that they really added a wonderful note to our trip. If you stay there, please look out for Sinan, who is lovely and gives really good travel advice, and for Sezgin, who is very kind, helpful and professional. And have a great time!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the side away from the nightclub, which can be a little noisy.

We were there for 3 nights and had an amazing time. Ersin the hotel receptionist is simply amazing. He helped us answer any questions we had, assisted us in our needs.
He was very friendly with my 2 kids. The room though small for a family of 4 wasn't bad.
The breakfast buffet spread was excellent. The chef once knew we were vegans cooked us vegetable omelet - eggs which was tasty and excellent. The staff overall was very courteous.
Location is just perfect, no words can describe it. Everything is walkable and stepping out of the hotel at night at 9 pm still makes you feel as if it's 10 in the morning with the hustling and bustling. But mind you the rooms are on the quaint side so no matter what the noise below is, you have a good night sleep. We had an amazing vacation. We surely plan to visit it again and will definitely stay here again. We captured a good photograph on the morning sunrise over the blue mosque for the restaurant rooftop. The night view is equally beautiful.

Room Tip: Stay at higher floors

I was skeptic about the hotel with the approach towards the hotel, but the staff, location and breakfast proved me wrong, and I'm glad !
The hotel is located right behind the tram station and the popular tourist destinations can be reached by short walk. It's surrounded by a number of restaurants and food joints.
The hotel staff is really helpful and polite.

Recommended for budget stay, cozy rooms, great location and a wide variety of food options around.

Caution : we had a bad experience with the hotel hamam. may want to skip the same ! please read my separate view for the same.

The hotel staff are amazing at the Ambassador. We arrived in Istanbul pretty tired after a long flight. We were met at the airport by the hotel's shuttle service - the driver was very friendly and gave us tips of what to see on our way to the hotel. While checking in, the staff brought us Apple tea to welcome us. Our room had an amazing view of the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. The breakfast was great with a huge choice of options including an omelette or crepe. The view from the terrace is spectacular. All of the hotel staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome- offering wine or tea in the lobby or up on the terrace anytime of day. They even allowed us to store our luggage at the hotel while we took a two day trip to another part of Turkey even though we were not returning to stay at their hotel. The hotel is located in the perfect area- right beside the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque and directly on the metro line. Fantastic hotel and wonderful people!
