Owner description: Famed architect Sinan built this majestic structure for one of the greatest rulers of the Ottoman Empire. Although this mosque is less ornate, there are many similarities between it and the Hagia Sophia since the same architect was responsible for both.

“You can Feel God”

It does seem that He has blessed this outpost of His Kingdom..... Mimar Sinan was really a master.... it is so peaceful even with all the tourists..... the architecture is beautiful and soothing.... just what a place of worship should be (and people still worship there)...... the views from the terrace at the back are worth the hours you can spend there just looking out......although the Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmet) is more dazzling this feels more serene and regal.....this should be a must see for every tourist to Istanbul

“Amazing amalgam of location, architecture and serenity”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

The mosque is located on top of a hill which gives very good views of the city. In addition to this the architecture and the design of the building is a delight to view and study. Very serene location atop a hill away from the bustle of the city.

“One of the Most Impressive”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

After a day in Istanbul you will realize there are enough mosques to make both McDonald's and Burger King jealous. This mosque is one of the most impressive with its park-like setting and views of the Golden Horn lying below. If you want to visit the top five mosque's in this city, this is one of them.

“Scale amazing”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

Beautiful from the outside particularly at night and with tiled interior.. Do respect Muslim sensibilities - take off your shoes and ladies do cover your head - we saw many tourists - US and Japanese particularly who were disregarding this second rule - you are in a place of w0rship and are invited in as a guest so respect please! PS also do leave a donation -in the UK you would pay to enter a cathedral or be asked for a donation - again not many people were offering anything - shame on you.............
