Owner description: This mosque was positioned on a hill overlooking the harbor at Eminonu. Today, the local pigeons make their home in its graceful domes and arches.

Visited the mosque its called the new mosque because it was made later than the blue mosque but its also very old heritage structure but after you have visited the blue mosque every thing else looks not so impressive

I saw all the major mosques in Istanbul and this one was perhaps my favorite. This mosque is right near the Spice Market and the interior is spectacular. This mosque doesn't get much mention in tour books but definitely should not be missed!

This is a nice mosque to go in and get a sense of what a mosque is like, you have to take your shoes off to go in

Built by the Sultan's mother, the new mosque is right next to the Spice Bazaar: it is small in size but it's interior is one of the most splendid of all the mosques we saw in Istanbul. Calm and peaceful compared to the busy streets outside, worth a visit.

I enjoy very much its courtyard from where I can see its main dome surrounded by the semi-domes, especially during late afternoon when the sun shines from the west, it gives the domes more 3D presentations.
