Hotel is opposite Istanbul University and Laleli Mosque, quite close to the Grand Bazaar and two stops from Sultanhamet Square, Blue Mosque and Sofia Mosque (you can walk it in 15 mins). Beds are comfy, rooms and bathrooms are nicely done out, but walls are paper thin, so you can hear your neighbours cough, talk, make love, watch TV (or all four) and some rooms have no outside windows, they just onto a dark enclosed lightwell, so beware. Breakfast is good, though, and dining room is nice and bright.

Room Tip: Rooms ending in 8 are essentially cupboards (I think some others are too, so check first)

The hotel is right on the streetcar line that runs up to Sultanahmet Square- 2 TL to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Hippodrome. It was also walking distance to the Grand Bazaar. Plenty of small restaurants, street vendors (fresh squeezed OJ any time of day!) and at the end of the day, a comfortable bed and a hot shower. Lovely!

Room Tip: Stay away from the front if you can- a little noisier.

We stayed here for few nights in June at the beginning of a tour of Turkey (2 adults, 2 teenage children). After a long haul flight from Australia, the soft bedding and crisp white sheets were most welcoming! This hotel is well postioned, the staff were extremely friendly and obliging and the rooms are contemporary and adequate. We are light sleepers so noise can be an issue but we were positioned at the rear of the hotel and you could have heard a pin drop - it was so quiet. Our booking included breakfast which had a HUGE selection to please every traveller and was actually the best we experienced in Turkey. There is a comfortable bar area on the ground floor with deep sofas where you can enjoy a drink or light snack and watch the world go by through the enormous windows. There is also free wi-fi in all the rooms which was super fast and appreciated by my teenagers.
If you are looking for a contemporary styled, mid-priced hotel , clean and well postioned with a great breakfast then I would recommend the Kent.

Room Tip: We stayed in 2 rooms (we returned at the end of our tour) and both times stayed in the same room but...

location is great, right beside the grand bazaar, close to blue mosque etc.

I was on a tour of Turkey, so we had ot stay here a few nights..

pros:
great location
freindly staff, currency change place next door
beautiful view from top floor

Cons:
no iron or ironing board - this was all through out Turkey - not good!
no hand lotion in
air conditioning was beside my room on top flooor - noisey as ever!
there was no mat on the floor- showers were different - easy to slip

We brought some our own liquor adn food in at night in - much cheaper than theirs.

Room Tip: a short walk away, you can get better priced food and drinks.

People with little children and families beware, this hotel doesn't allow food and drinks from outside the hotel into the rooms. This is very tough for people with special dietary restrictions and specially children because restaurant has limited menu options and closes in the evening. Staff is clueless and inconsistent. They are always confused about whether they quoted you price for this in dollars, or Euros, or Liras! Bathroom is tiny and white lights in the room make it look more like an office. No tissues, iron, coffee maker, pen, etc in the room. In fact there was a sign in the room which said no irons, no coffee makers, or other electrical appliances are allowed to be brought into the room!!!! Which means, you pay them to iron your clothes, make coffee, etc. Then they charge you in Euros when it should be Liras!!! Finally, walls are paper thin, which means you can literally hear the people next door breath. I would say go to the Double Tree or crowne plaza down the street.

Room Tip: Just skip this hotel!
