location is great, right beside the grand bazaar, close to blue mosque etc.

I was on a tour of Turkey, so we had ot stay here a few nights..

pros:
great location
freindly staff, currency change place next door
beautiful view from top floor

Cons:
no iron or ironing board - this was all through out Turkey - not good!
no hand lotion in
air conditioning was beside my room on top flooor - noisey as ever!
there was no mat on the floor- showers were different - easy to slip

We brought some our own liquor adn food in at night in - much cheaper than theirs.

Room Tip: a short walk away, you can get better priced food and drinks.

People with little children and families beware, this hotel doesn't allow food and drinks from outside the hotel into the rooms. This is very tough for people with special dietary restrictions and specially children because restaurant has limited menu options and closes in the evening. Staff is clueless and inconsistent. They are always confused about whether they quoted you price for this in dollars, or Euros, or Liras! Bathroom is tiny and white lights in the room make it look more like an office. No tissues, iron, coffee maker, pen, etc in the room. In fact there was a sign in the room which said no irons, no coffee makers, or other electrical appliances are allowed to be brought into the room!!!! Which means, you pay them to iron your clothes, make coffee, etc. Then they charge you in Euros when it should be Liras!!! Finally, walls are paper thin, which means you can literally hear the people next door breath. I would say go to the Double Tree or crowne plaza down the street.

Room Tip: Just skip this hotel!

Good location. Comfortable but smallish room with view of wall of hotel / an adjacent building. Bathroom was also on the small side. Staff were helpful. Good WiFi service all over the hotel. Wine was reasonably priced given the high taxation on alcohol in Turkey. Convenient place for short stay in Istanbul.

We stayed here for 3 nights recently. We have no complaints. The hotel is clean, efficient, modern and the staff is professional and courteous. It's in a great location- a short walk to pubs, restaurants and activities. A very short walk to the Grand Bazaar. The shower is excellent- best hotel shower I've ever experienced. You will be drenched like never before! We stayed on the 3rd floor and it was relatively quiet. We would stay here again.

The hotel was well located, and handy to shops and money-changers. Our room (No. 102) was of a reasonable size, although the bathroom was smallish and a bit of a squeeze. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Sadly, there were no views from our window – all we could see was the hoarding of the side of a building under construction immediately next-door. The alleyway below our window tended to be noisy with pedestrians. Shutting the window tight helped drown out some of the external noise. However, our sleep was disturbed by noise and loud talking within the hotel corridors between 2 and 3 in the morning.
The set dinners and the breakfasts were adequate, thought lacking in fresh fruit. At dinner, drinks were not complimentary but had to be purchased. The wi-fi internet was not easy to access and was painfully sluggish.

The front desk staff are extremely unfriendly and bordering on downright rude. My wife left her key in the room and I was out with friends so she requested an extra key. Unfortunately instead of asking for ID verification, the front desk staff gave her a lecture on how she shouldn't leave her key in the room! Earlier we had asked for an iron and ironing board only to be told the hotel did not provide for such a basic amenity which is common around the world. The only option was to use their laundry service which is of course not free.

The rooms are very cramped and the views are very unappealing unless you like old building walls. One of the couples in my group was given a room without a functioning air conditioner and even after 24 hours, the problem was not attended to. You have hundreds of hotels to choose from in Istanbul, do not make the mistake of choosing this one like we did.

I have spent a week in this hotel and I would like to recommend it very earnestly. It's splendidly situated, just in front of the Istambul tramway; is very comfortable, very well climatized, the buffet breakfast is fresh and varied, and the staff friendly and helpful. Not to mention the shower and the bathroom, gorgeous. I was also helped to find a cab from and to the Airport, at very modic prices. So, if you like second rate hotels and shabby places, abstain from Kent Hotel and stay anywhere else!
