“Overpriced... Not worth it”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2014 via mobile

View was good but you can get more or less the same view when you take a boat ride on the golden horn or a bhosophorus tour. Nothing special according to me. Just a way to loot money.

There is a lift to take you up and bring you down if you are concerned about the climbing. You will just have to to climb a few stairs up. There a restaurant on the top floor that gives you the great view. You also have an opportunity to take a picture dressed in sultans clothes when you get out of the lifts.

Entry fee : 19 TL or 6.5 Euros
Opening Hours : 9:00 to 20:00
Directions : Karakoy is the closest tram station

“best walk in Istanbul”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2014

The Galata tower area is sprinkled with little gems. little stores that sell the most unique novelties. the dogan apartment is an area close by where all the hip designers are. it used to be or maybe still is the Jewish quarter.

“Panoramic View Of Istanbul”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2014

If you want to get a 360 panoramic view of Istanbul, then Galata tower is a must visit, the line infront of the entrance is really long but the experience is worth it, I would advice that you go right before sunset for a breathtaking naturally painted view, when we went there, there were a bride and groom having their pictures taken and I actually couldn't blame them, these are some photos that will live forever,, make sure you take loads of pictures of your own!

“Great view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2014

The view is spectacular on a clear day. Whilst the entrance fee is a bit steep at 12 lira the views are outstanding. The upper balcony allows you to take great photos without a fence or mesh in front - if you are scared if heights think carefully about this one !! Nice cafe at top and an elevator most of the way to the top. As with lots of attractions by the time we left at about 10 30 there was a queue. Hopefully they restrict the number of visitors at the top else it would be a bit difficult on the narrow balcony

“Make this a 1st stop to get oriented to the ancient city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2014

Especially if the sky is clear, you'll get an expansive view over the city, and instantly see the Golden Horn, Bosphorous Strait and how they shape the city. The posted signs tell the stories of the tower and of its atmospheric neighborhood called Galata. An elevator takes visitors to the viewing level a the top. There are 2 restaurants on top too.
