“Must see”

Don't say you've been to Istanbul without being there. Easy access at the end of Istiklal Street. The great feeling experiencing the history and course the magnificent view of the old town and bosphorous are enough to be there.

“Excellent view!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012

The view from this tower is great! Worth the 12TL you pay to enter. There is a narrow corridor outside on top of the tower and a few people can stand around at any time so you may find a queu. We didn't wait at all though.

“An awesome place for panoramic views!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2012

We went in the morning on a sunny August day and the views from the top of the tower were very impressive. In the morning the sunlight is coming from above the historical center of Istanbul with its Aya Sohpia, Blue Mosque and other sites, making it difficult for colourful pictures of this particular part of the city because of the contra light effect (which of course can be corrected later with a photo edditing software). But you have great views of the Golden Horn and the Asian part.
At the afternoon or sunset time, it's the oposite: you have lovely views with perfect lighting over the historic center.
There is a small entrance fee of around 3 euros for the Tower.

“The view at sunset is breathtaking, but be patient”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

The best way to enjoy the city view of Istambul is on the late afternoon as the sun rises behind the city and the light is bad for pictures is the morning. The sunset is breathtaking, but people don´t move, so it becomes crowded and its hard to get to the best spots for pictures. Be patient and considerate to others!! The fare to get up by elevator is 12,00 Turkish Lira.
