An impressive monument, considering the short time it was build. The views are beautifull, the Bosphorus on a sunny day is an image one can not forget!

We picked a nice day to find the correct ferry that would stop at the Fortress, which was in itself a lovely ride on the Bosphorus with great views of some of the mansions and wealth of Istanbul. The Fortress is a grown up kids playground with many places to climb and many stunning views to photograph. As others have said, its dangerous climbing and you DONT want to leave children unattended here. This really isnt a place to visit if your not fit enough to climb a fair amount. Walk down the boulevard and eat at a nearby restaurant afterwards as you will be tired. We went in the early spring and it was cool and just starting to bud out inside. A wonderful trip!

Nice view from Bhospuras tour from sea shore. There is nothing to see from inside, so its better to see it while you are on a bhospuras tour. It looks amazing and kind of force you to think about old times!!!

Other reviewers have described enough already this magnificent fortress. Do not miss, especially on a good sunny day, and if possible, try to reach it by ferry.
However, have in mind that the place is quite unsafe. There are steep stairs with no railings and some very slippery stones. Make sure you wear good shoes when you visit! Keep an eye on small children if they try to climb the walls, as there are some dangerous stairs. Some parts of this attraction might not be easy to access for the elderly.
Check the website for working days and opening hours; they differ from those of the attractions in Sultanahmet area.
