“Old hotel, needs renovation, rooms ok”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2014

We visited this hotel as a part of a Tour in Turkey and Greece, to begin with the location, it´s in the noisy ugly end part of old Istanbul, that means lot of cheap clothing stores, dark streets at night, and not much to do in the nearby. I have read some opinions that the Grand Bazaar, and other places are walking distance... really? there are 3 tram stations between the hotel and the Bazaar... The rooms are really old, but clean, the bed is comfortable, but the furniture looks really used and dusty. The bathroom is also not very welcoming, with a floor that looks of the Ottomans era... I think there are better options in Istanbul for the same price, and also with a better service. The breakfast was included, and it was so bad, with few options and tang for orange juice! I would really consider to visit again this hotel.

Central location. Short walking to metro that takes you around old town or all the way over to new part of Istanbul. Walking distance to blue mosk and grand bazar. Hundreds of ordinary cheap clothes stores just outside hotel. Service minded reception, portier and bartender. Smart suggestions for how to explore Istanbul and great turkish restaurants. We got an upgraded large room for free and a gift due to my wifes birthday. Cozy bar and lobby. Great massage in the Spa. Haircut for 10euro at the hotels hairdresser. We did not expect much and felt we good value for money at this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for larger room with king size bed. Ordinary double a bit smal for more than one night.

This little gem of a place is simply delightful. Situated in the Laleli district near the Istanbul University, the area is chock full of simply outstanding, tourist-free restaurants and amazing food.

We arrived at around eight in the morning and were shown to our room, after an unexpected complimentary breakfast which was more than adequate.

Tours are easily arranged and for those staying more than four nights, complimentary transfers to and from the airport are provided along with a half day tour of one's choice.

The main tourist areas are a short 15-20 minute walk away with the grand bazaar closest and the tram stop opposite the university takes you all the way to Kabatas, a short walk away from the Spice or Egyptian Bazaar and the Takzim Funicular. Pick up an Istanbul Kart, load it up and you're all set!

The hotel isn't the most sophisticated or modern around but if you're into friendly, cosy and reasonably priced accommodation this could be the place for you. Unfortunately however, the best views are from the top floor with no lift access which only goes up to the floor below and rooms can be a little small but the location away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist area with easy access to the trams and buses simply make up for everything.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are a walk up spiral stairs!

The hotel is OK for a rather cheap price you get a hotel that is situated near to Aksaray Metrostation, perfect for transfer from and to the Airport.
The tram stop is only a short walk from the hotel and takes you to the most popular sights.
The room was OK and so was the breakfast.
Good roomservice.

I spend four days beginning of October for four days with my wife and our experience was really bad for a four star hotel and a trip advisor winner for year 2012!! we have to wait 45 minutes for the driver to pick us form the airport and when complained to reception, the front office agent asked us to tell the manager the second day, asked for a late check out (from 12noon till 14.00) and we were pushed till the last day of our stay to face with one front office agent who happened to keep playing solitaire on the hotel computer and tell us very rudely "this is not possible".. Our AC is not working and we reported 3 times to 3 different team members but it seems no one cares. the breakfast is very average i can say. HSKP staff kept the juice and fruit in the room and didn't remove them although they are visibly spoiled and i have to throw them out of the room, bath robe was thrown on the toilet chair to be changed but she decided to hang it back.. last day, the phone kept ringing exactly at 12.00 asking us to check out, we checked out at 12.00 and kept our luggage at the reception and the lady at the front desk didn't bother to ask our feedback or how was your stay... by 21.30 we asked the guy at reception if he can ask the pickup to be delayed half an hour and surprisingly the reply was " this is not possible" when i share my dissatisfaction with the stay and service and that i will complain on TA, the FO member replied by saying its up to me to complain
The staff are lacking basic skills and needs training on guest courtesy and dealing with people.

This hotel is nothing to write home about. It is In busy section Of town -so noisy at night. The staff was not very pleasant and made us feel bad that we booked our tours with the tour company we were there with instead of through them. The air conditioning did Not work 2 of 3 nights we were there. They acted like giving us a non-smoking room was an inconvenience. The breakfast was pretty good but fairly standard. They did have some amazing butter and watermelon sculptures.
