The best choice to make if you are going to stay at beyoglu and want to be near the commercial street Istiklal. Situated at the eastern side of Istanbul, this is a historical hotel the one that opened for the first time to welcome travellers of the time when the famous Orient express would arrive at Istanbul! More like a palace, than a simple hotel, it is by itself an attraction! Dont miss the roof garden for coffee and dont forget to try the "afternoon tea'' menu!Watch the preserved room of Agatha Cristie and many other's famous visitors of this hotel, check the 2nd oldest elevator in Europe, after the one of the Eiffel Tower adn enjoy a king's stay at this hotel. Its neghbourghood is very close to different cafes, restaurants, shops, and the tunel that leads to the galata tower and then the tram to pass towards the european side of the city.

Room Tip: Top floors view the Bosporus and the bridge!

We stayed for three nights at this historic location. Two nights before taking a cruise then one more night after the cruise. As you arrive they make you feel VIP right away. The location is great, the lobby is beautiful, the rooms are extremely clean and tastefully decorated. We really felt appreciated, welcome and special. The breakfast which is included was great. It had eggs to order, ten types of cheese, ten types of breads, all king of fruits and juices, great coffee. The concierge was always extremely helpful. The personnel would always give the extra mile for the guests. I highly recommend the Pera Palace Hotel.

I had just returned from staying at the Pera Palace Hotel in Istanbul for two nights. It was the end of a cruise I had taken through the Greek isles. The hotel is magnificent and the staff is extrememly courteous and helpful. In fact, while I was boarding my flight home, I noticed that I had left my camera at a Starbucks near the hotel. I called the hotel, and a wonderful staff member found my camera for me. I think that says it all. In addition to the incredibly friendly staff, the hotel is historic(Ataturk and Agatha Christie had stayed there). The hotel one of the first hotels in Europe to have a working elevator which you can go on. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. If you stay in Istanbul, I highly recommend you stay in this hotel as it is close enough to all the major attractions and yet is in a quiet neighborhood. Just staying overnight in the hotel is memorable in itself.

Amazingly historic hotel, beautifully restored with exceptional service.
However, if you want a corporate business hotel like the Hilton you should stay there and don't occupy rooms that others might appreciate more.
One warning - Laundry service is very good but expensive.
