Five nights were spent here and every one was wonderful. My room was on the top floor with a little terrace to watch the sun setting over Istanbul each night. My bed was perfect with a range of pillows to choose from. The bathroom includes a rain shower and another shower head that lets out water in a flat stream and you can really enjoy it by sitting on the marble seat and letting the water hit your shoulders to relax them. Good sized bathroom amenities plus slippers and bathrobe. The room has everything you could want. Mini fridge, Nespresso machine, kettle to make tea, free wifi, a chaise lounge to relax in by the windows, good size closet, desk and chair and luggage holder.

The service from the onset is lovely with them meeting you as you arrive, check in swift and courteous and any needs you may have are met with a smile. Turn down service in the evening with comp. water and chocolates. English newspaper delivered each morning.

Room service is quick and they have one of the best club sandwiches I have tasted. Afternoon tea is available as well which is something I enjoy very much.

Did not have breakfast (not a breakfast eater) nor try the spa but they do have one as well as a hammam.

Room Tip: The rooms as the top have cozy private terraces.

This refurbished hotel would get five stars if you could get a good nights sleep. Although our room was luxurious and very clean, there was a problem in that the walls are paper thin and the TV in the next room (behind the bed) could be heard clearly through the wall. All the rooms are like this evidently. On complaining we were offered a bigger room with balcony without extra charge and the room next door was kept empty - which was very kind of the staff. Also when you open the door to the safe, the fridge door opens - I think this is a hint! The hotel is in a good spot as it is near all the restaurants and night life in Istiklal Caddesi.

It is easy to get to the old city (which is less lively at night) by taking the old tunnel down and then a tram (buy electronic tickets at the tunnel entrance which you can use everywhere). Taxis are cheap but get a quote before you get in.
On the down side it is next to a very noisy 6 lane highway on one side and a busy road (city view) on the other and numerous noisy night clubs. Prices for food and drink in the hotel are astronomical compared to in the local streets. £25 for breakfast. We had borekas, salad and coffee in local cafe for about £4 each.
Get 30 minute boat to Asia (karadkoy) form bottom of old tunnel for 60p for amazing fish lunch and market. Book Istanbul Airport Transfer to pick you up at airport for 25 euro. Very reliable and pleasant.

Room Tip: Make sure you are on an upper floor with city view. Less noisy.

Beautiful decor in the public areas and the rooms. An historic hotel recently totally refitted right in the heart of Istanbul's Beyoglu restaurant and shopping district. This place could be in Istanbuls top 5 if they gave their staff some more training about prompt customer service with a smile rather than in the top 20 where it is now.

Room Tip: Get a high floor to avoid the worst of the street noise.

The hotel is very charming, our room was quite comfortable (with a nice view of the Bosporus), and the concierge was extremely helpful, and the other staff were uniformly gracious. Breakfasts were quite good, and the bar was comfortable. Our only quibble was that they skipped turndown service a couple of the 6 nights that we were there. The location is excellent -- near a lot of good restaurants and Istikal.

Although it was interesting to see this grand old European hotel we would not stay there again because of the service issues at every level. Housekeeping, concierge and bar staff were all bad. We had to ask to have our room cleaned, for fresh towels, for turn down service, used rags were left in our room and glasses not washed. Having a drink in the bar was an exercise in trying to catch someone's attention who was not otherwise doing anything. The concierge desk was not only not helpful but actually sent us to the wrong restaurant over an hour away instead of a restaurant 15 minutes away. I was very glad we were using our own tour guides and did not try to arrange through the hotel. It was just a bad experience every day at the Pera.
On the plus side, the location is very good near many restaurants, shopping and other Pera sites. Cabs are easy to get since there is a cab stand at the end of the street. The lobby is pleasant and old world though not too many places to sit and wait. The room we had was on the sixth floor with a small balcony. It was of an adequate size and comfortable. Lighting was good and decent storage. The bathroom was extremely small and difficult to maneuver in, though it was very nicely done. There were some other odd glitches, lighting that would not stay on and a safe that one could only get to by opening the mini bar too
Breakfast was really excellent and plentiful. But I would not stay here again
