We have stayed here for a week, and the hotel is great when you want to see the attractions of Istanbul. All major sites like Aya Sophia and the Blue Mosque are in walking distance from this hotel.
Breakfast is served at the roof terrace from which you have a nice view over the Bosporus at one side or the old city with the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia at the other side. Breakfast give enough choices of hot and cold dishes.
Rooms are clean with comfortable beds. A bit small but you have to consider that the hotel is situated in an old building.

Room Tip: rooms at the front have sea views, at the back have views over the old city

Staff went above and beyond. Beer while we waited for our room, great concierge with useful tips and help to book things. Recommended us to go to the Sauda club which was amazing- just what we needed for a more relaxing non-tourist day. They am Our friends stayed at Kaylon hotel very near by, they had better views but paid 4 times the price and their service wasnt as good. They made me a birthday cake and delivered it to our room while we were out. It was so delicious and appreciated. Location was absolutely perfect for sightseeing and for getting to the nightlife in Taksim. Bathrooms modern, towels nice. Bed and linens comfortable. Breakfast was perfect ~great food and nice views! Could use a few more amenities in the room- that would be expected at a 4 star hotel - shampoo (better), conditioner, lotion, shower cap, full length mirror, and an iron. Overall we loved Istanbul and this hotel was part of the reason why. Would recommend.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms by the party room. There was a wedding one night where we could hear the music and danci...

We 've stayed at Armada Hotel five nights and every thing was perfect especially the comfort of the room and the fantastic and incredible breakfast. The room was enough spacious and always clean. The staff was very helpful. Armada Hotel is very well located, 10 minutes walk to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. And Istanbul is an extraordinary town.

The location of the hotel and the lovely rooftop terrace dining were the highlights of this hotel. It is located on a back alleyway--zero curbside appeal-- off of the seacoast highway. It overlooks the Marmara Sea on one side and on the other, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and it is also close to the Archeological Museum and Topkapi Palace. While the mosques are lighted in stunning fashion at night, a mosque-view room at close range actually looks over many blocks of a colorful but shabby neighborhood, with the mosques in the distance. The Marmara Sea side has noisy highway sound.

The close- to- everything advantage needs explaining. It is at the bottom of a long and steep hill, and the road is paved with very irregular cobblestones, uncomfortable to walk on. There are huge dips and chasms, often no sidewalk, and cars that do not give way to pedestrians-- ever. The neighborhood is a little dicey. A walk back to the hotel at night would not be fun.

Our room had a bare floor and though painted floral wood paneling, it seemed basic more than comfortable. There was space to unpack (we stayed 5 nights) and the bathroom had marble countertops but with an ancient, diffuse blow-everywhere hairdryer. We closely overlooked a window of a neighborhood house and had to keep the shades pulled all the time. The bed was very lumpy, and though we signed up for a King, it was a Queen. The tiny elevator could safely hold only 4 people and sometimes it was out of order. The large lobby had just two couches and a lot of wooden chairs around tables that no one used. It had the feel of a bus station.

But the garden rooftop was just spectacular with the sea and the mosques. We went there to read, to watch the ships go up the Bosphorus, or just to sit in a garden. Even the interior dining room had open walls to the view. The breakfast, which was complimentary, was absolutely delicious with an enormous variety of foods. Lovely flowers on the breakfast table. The hotel service was wonderful--they made enormous strides to be helpful, though their English was not adequate for explaining to cab drivers where we wanted to be driven. But they tried hard to please and were unfailingly pleasant.

Room Tip: We had a second-floor room, # 161, which was very quiet but no privacy--looked right into the window...

Stayed here as I did a customer event on the terrace for lunch the next day. Actually the breakfast was fantastic. With a view of the city and a wonderful buffet with delightful turkish specialities (pastry both sweet and salty), cheeses, bread and then wonderful little colourful jars of spices. The room was also good - clean and not just your standard stuff but with its own personality.

The staff were very helpful - all of them - always quick to offer help with luggage. There is a cute family of some 20 turtles living in a marble pond in the reception which you can stand and watch for ages.

The terrace is gorgegous at any time and the lunch there was also fantastic.

We just stayed at the Armada Hotel for two nights. The location, just below the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, is great, but be aware that you have to climb a relatively small hill to get there. The room we had was extremely small but clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the comfortable bed. The bathroom must have been updated recently -- very modern but, again, very small. It lacked the little amenities like shampoo and shower caps, which seemed odd for a relatively expensive hotel. (Full disclosure: The hotel provides a shower gel that doubles as shampoo, and you can request a shampoo if you'd like). In the lobby is a shallow pool filled with turtles; and elsewhere in the hotel, you will find birds in ornate cages. The rooftop restaurant provides views of the sea on one side and the Blue Mosque on the other. The food is excellent. We especially enjoyed the expansive breakfast buffet. Bottom line: I would recommend this hotel if you don't mind a tiny room.

Lovely hotel, within walking distance of all the historical sites. The rooms are very comfortable with twin or 5ft beds, the bathroom was well fitted with a walk in shower in our room. The rooftop restaurant and terrace have fabulous views over the Bosphourous and the historical area, Good service with limited english in some areas but Baris - Customer Services - was just so helpful.

Room Tip: Go for a room at the front - great views of the Bosphorous
