“Excellent Stay in their Studio”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

We stayed for four nights at the Armada's "studio" room. It was essentially a fully furnished apartment around the corner from the main hotel. The building has three or four units with a rooftop that allowed us incredible views of the Marmara Sea and the Sultanahmet region - which gave us clear views of the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia uphill. It was only a 5-10 walk to the Hippodrome area through beautiful ancient streets and shops. We were there over New Years Eve and watched fireworks from our roof - which was really astounding. The breakfasts were huge Turkish feasts. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Worth asking for the studio if you'd like a kitchenette and to have your own rooftop view.

Staff is not at all friendly.. We lost our mobile fone there... Overall a very bad experience n will not go there again or recommand it to anyone as there r much better options available for the same price.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, from 30.11 to 02.12.2012.

First of all this hotel is very well located, at about 10 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and the "Sultanahmet" tramway station. We had an old style room, big enought, with quality furniture and modern and a very pleasant bathroom. The room was cleaned each day. Also the front desk girls speak english and were friendly.

The open-buffet breakfast was good and varied - jam, honey, cereals, egs, cheese, milk, tea, coffee, fresh orange juice, turkish sweets etc. I forget to mention that the breakfast is served on a spectacular see view terrace.

So stylish and cosy place to stay, you really feel yourself at home. You'll enjoy your buffet breakfast with the unique view at the roof .... Nice and pleasent Ottoman style ,but not gaudy and not arabesque. So friendly staff, and centrally located for the historical hearth of Istanbul :) have a free parking area for your car.You can easily reach everywhere from hotel.Excellent !!!

Room Tip: Rooms has odd numbers are having sea view ....

We stayed in Armada hotel for four days me and my wife, the location is great close to the sea and to the tourist attractions in sultanahmet ,however you will have to climb a little hill to reach there which was OK for us but it could be a problem for old people or with difficulties of walking, the breakfast was just amazing and one of the best I had in my various trips to different countries. The hotel has a terrace with nice view of the sea and the old city , our room was extremely clean but kind of small , if you want a sea view you will have to pay extra money which i skipped since we would not spend much time in our room during day time, the staff were welcoming and helpful, as you can read in other reviews there was a wedding party going on the ground floor and not on the terrace as I read previously ,I assume since its winter it will be very cold to have wedding on the terrace, we were OK in our room but once you open the door you would hear little noise but it was fine in general and didn't last till after midnight. the hotel has a special room to keep your bags after check out in case your flight back home is in the evening and we were allowed to stay in the lobby until our flight time which was around 8 pm, , the lobby was big and styled nicely with a wonderful lighting and also some artifacts here and there like vintage radios and cameras, there is also nice toilets which you can use while waiting there.
In general our stay was very pleasant and I would for sure stay there in my next trip to Istanbul

Tip: book through the hotel website as we found the room rate much lower there than third party websites.

The Armada is located on the outskirts of Sultanahmet, just inside the walls of the Old City--so, it's very convenient to the historical sites without being right in the middle of the tourist hub. The Four Seasons is right around the corner so that should give you an idea of how ideal this location is.

As many reviewers have already posted, the rooftop breakfast is decadent. Lots of fresh Turkish food and amazing views all around.

This is also a great hotel for conferences and meetings.
