“Comfortable, great food and location”
Reviewed September 14, 2012 via mobile

I stayed here as a conference venue. Nice rooms, great food, gorgeous terrace for meals and drinks, pleasant staff. If you can afford it take an apartment just outside the hotel. Location good for tourist sites but hotel is quiet.

When you arrive down this narrow road, you know you're in a local cultural spot. Greeted by friendly staff and checked in with ease, we got to our comfortable, cozy room. Nothing fancy about this place and definitely has smaller European size beds (as expected). One of the best aspects was going up to the casual roofdeck, which has stunning views of the water on one side and a picturesque landscape of the famous Blue mosque on the other. Not only are the views fabulous, but the spread at breakfast (included in the room rate) was unbelievable. Fresh honeycomb, a wide variety of cheeses, lots of local pastries, fresh squeezed orange juice (you need to do the squeezing yourself - makes the effort worth the reward!!), turkish tea and coffee, olives, cereal - I could go on! One of the most amusing aspects as someone from the US was the pond of turtles in the lobby area - that were imported all the way from Mississippi! Super random, but cute added touch. Great location to walk all around the Old City - 5 to 10 minutes to the Palace, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, the Cistern. from there its another 15 minutes or so to the Grand bazaar. You can also easily tram to the waterfront and Spice market. Check out Denizan's coffee - about a 10 minute walk - if you're looking for some cool vibes and modern ex-pat service in this historical neighborhood.

We stayed there for one week and everything was great: we got exactly the room that we wanted, it was clean, quiet, comfortable, good size, good bed, good service, friendly and helpful staff, area pretty close to the Sultanahmet square.

Room Tip: I recommend second floor with sea view...

I stayed in this hotel in period 18-22.08, in room 108.

Yes , is good hotel :large room,clean,breakfast very good,but the same every morning.Check-in,check-out fast.
I did not like :
*the location :must pass under a bridge,evening there was a problem because they were beggars...
*no shampoo in the bathroom, shower gel etc,just soap;all asked at reception;

To reach the hotel,need a cab;transport is not directly.

A very authentic Ottoman experience starting from the lobby, this hotel is quiet yet close to Sultanahmet and familiar to all taxi drivers I rode with. It's also very easy to hail cabs to anywhere because it sits at the bottom of Sultanahmet close to where many cabs are exiting to Sahil Yolu. The rooms are simple but clean, and while they could use a bit more lighting (maybe a floor lamp) the ambiance is excellent. The staff are always keen to help and they go the extra mile to meet your requests to the best of their ability. Highly recommended and I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Staying on the first floor probably won't give you a good view, so try to stay on the second flo...

My family came to Istanbul for a Turkish wedding of a good friend who is from Belgium and married a beautiful Turkish man. They made the plan to stay here but if I had done the planning I would have chosen the same. Close to the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia Mosque, the Basilica Cistern, incredibleTopkapi Palace. We took a dinner cruise down the Bosphorous Sea- another highlight that gives you a tour of everything you didn't know about. The grand Bazar is huge & overwhelming at first but you must go. Their wedding venue- Esma Sultan in Ortakoy, can be seen by sea but also it is a thing of beauty to be seen up close since it is a glass building inside a ruin. Whatever we needed the hotel helped us with. Taxi's are best through the hotel, we learned that the hard way. We always felt safe in the area around the hotel. The breakfast is like going to the Grand Bazar of breakfasts. We all loved our stay at the Armada Hotel and it is really difficult to please that many people but they did it. I will come Back here again.

Room Tip: Every room is good
