We stayed at the Blue House Hotel from December 24, 2013 departing January 1, 2014. The location was convenient to all parts of Istanbul and was next to the Blue Mosque. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. All of the staff were eager to help us in any way needed. The buffet breakfast was delicious as were the dinners in the Blue House Hotel Restaurant. I am a budget traveler and the price was very fair. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Istanbul.

Room Tip: This was a Rick Steves recommendation. It was a great value with good service and facilities.

We stayed 5 nights at this hotel, ending our tour of Turkey. I won't rate this as a fantastic hotel, but it is practical to stay here. The location is convenient to visit the many attractions in the area. The rooms are small but quite well maintained. The staff are helpful. As we returned rather late one night and had only time to take away some fast food for a very late meal, we asked for permission to eat at the closed restaurant in the lobby. The receptionist kindly allowed us to do so. We appreciated this. Naturally, we made sure we did not leave a mess, cleaning up the table after our meal. The breakfast is so so. Some fresh juice would have been nice.

Older small hotel with a fabulous location between the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. Fabulous views of the Blue Mosque from the hotel restaurants and from some of the rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent Rami Restaurant next door has fabulous views and specializes in traditional Ottoman dishes. Pleasant, older rooms that feel like Istanbul, rather than like some generic international hotel chain. I would always choose to stay there if I can get a room.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Blue Mosque give you a fabulous view, but you don't really spend that much time sitting at the window, do you? Get a cheaper room and go sit on the terrace and have tea or a Turkish coffee and baklava.

Stayed here as part of Selin Rozanes' Explore Turkish Flavors tour (see separate review for this great experience). Rooms were nice (we stayed at the beginning and end of our trip), staff was most helpful/accommodating, and included breakfasts included more than enough choices to allow variety day to day. If you get a room with a view of the Blue Mosque be sure to look at it at night. There may be more luxurious hotels at higher prices with better amenities but for the cost, this hotel and its location can't be beat!

Room Tip: Ask for a view room if possible!

I recently stayed four nights in this quaint hotel with small cosy but comfortable rooms.
I had organised for the transfer service to pick me up - a good, but slightly expensive choice for a single traveler - although if there was a group of 4 a very economical transfer at 29 Euro per car.
The location was excellent - a very short walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and a slightly longer walk to the Grand Bazaar. The Spice Bazaar was a short walk and a tram trip away. There are loads of restaurants in this area - you are spoilt for choice.
My only complaints really were how noisy the street below is at night [my room was at the front of the hotel] and I liked to have my window open as the air con wasn't really working. I also like to make a cup of coffee in the morning and drink it in bed - but like some hotels in Europe, tea and coffee making facilities weren't available in the room.
Overall I enjoyed my stay here.

Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable review.

The front / viewed side of the hotel sometimes might be a noisy before/latest 23:00 p.m. that is depending to the outside. As we are very close to the Blue Mosque, you hear the prayer calls. But from the second day, you used to hear it. And most of our guests think it is a mistic music.

It’s pleasing that you remarked the perfect location of our hotel. As we are in a very central location, you are close to everywhere.

Airport transfer is cost a bit more from a regular taxi as it is a comfortable private minivan with a meeting transferman at the airport.

Air condition normally works good, but maybe it was a period that had a problem which we always take care of it.

We greatly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us to improve and provide a better experience everyday.

We hope to see you again in the future and wish you the very best.
