Excellent boutique hotel on the doorsteps of the ancient hippodrome and the Blue Mosque. Excellent location and wonderful, personable service. Beautiful terrace with view on the Blue Mosque and the Bosphorus.

Room Tip: The only reason why the sleep quality was not so good was because our room was on the first floor, o...

My friend and I stayed at Ibrahim Pasha Hotel for 3 nights in Sep 2012. The staff was tremendously helpful and friendly and truly tried to make our stay and experience of Istanbul a pleasany one. The location of the hotel is absolutely excellent. Breakfast is also lovely, with great home made breads, quiches, fabulous fresh fruits and yoghurt. The hotel also has a roof terrace with amazing views over Istanbul! I can highly recommend this hotel.

Our 10th wedding anniversary trip. The staff could not have been nicer, more obliging, or better hosts. The rooms are small, the price is maybe a bit high, but it is a very sweet, well run hotel, ideally placed and as a notoriously bad tempered, finickity guest - I had nothing to moan about. I was only sad to see on the last day that we could have had breakfast on their wonderful roof terrace for a small additional cost - it was hidden on the mini bar menu. Perfect is every other way. I asked for flowers in the room as a surprise, they were magnificent, there was even a small present with their congratulations on getting this far in our married life!

Room Tip: we had a deluxe with a balcony - the balcony ate a fair bit of the space, and had a view lacking any...

The best thing about the hotel is that it is right next to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, various Hamams, and within walking distance to the Grand Bazar, Topkapi Palace. That sums it up as a perfect boutique hotel (assuming you don't want the Four Seasons) in the heart of Sultanahmet. The terrace has amazing views of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Lit up, they look stunning. Be sure to walk around at night in the Aya Sofia square. Also, the museum of Islamic and Turkish art (the house of Ibrahim Pasha) is a jewel of a museum - for carpets and calligraphy, a truly beautiful experience. Have a Turkish coffee in the museum, buy the 72-hour museum pass. It will save you a lot of time in lines at Topkapi and the Hagia Sofia entrance.

Sounds of ajan at dawn will wake you up, so use ear-plugs.

My wife and I have just returned from 4 weeks in Turkey. No better way to start than to stay at this hotel. It is centrally located in Sultanahmet. This is more of a boutique style hotel, the staff here are exceptional. The breakfast is the best we had in any Turkey hotel and then there is the roof top bar, 4th floor where after a day out sightseeing and shopping, sit back, cold beer in hand and marvel at the view of the Blue Mosque and beyond. We were disappointed we could not spend our last night there but the staff were wonderful in arranging to send home a small parcel we had left there 3 weeks earlier - nothing is too much trouble for these people. I doubt you will do any better than staying here!

Room Tip: We stayed in a standard room and it was great

If you decide to find a hotel in Sultanahmet, this is the place to stay. Great value: for what you paid you have super clean and newly renovated hotel, undivided attention from the  staff who go above and beyond to accommodate your need, and a cozy ambience that makes you feel you're staying at your old friend's luxurious house. Great perks: the view of Blue Mosque from their private rooftop, l'Occitane amenities in the bathroom, and varieties of turkish delight they left you during their nightly turndown service. I greatly recommend Ibrahim Pasha hotel to anybody: friends families strangers and even my in laws!

This is a gorgeous small hotel with brilliantly helpful english speaking staff who can help you with advice and bookings and anything you want. Best of all is the roof top terrace and unrivalled view of the Blue Mosque and great ships moving up the Bosphorous. It is within walking distance to all the main sites in the old city and there are masses of great books to browse in the very comfortable lounge areas downstairs. Very good wifi access too everywhere.and the furnishings are lovely everywhere. My only quibbles would be with the tiny bathroom, the strange lack of a top sheet every night (but we got one as soon as we asked) and having to pay extra for orange juice at breakfast. But these are all tiny points that don't detract in any way from the lovely 3-4 days that we spent here. Such a peaceful oasis in a busy city. Would return tomorrow if we could!

Room Tip: We had room 204 which was very quiet but views were awful. Very quiet street for all rooms, I would...
