Great location - easy walking distance to local shops, market, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and much more. Locality has lots of great rooftop bars to explore - make sure that they have an alcohol licence, if that's your thing, before you make the ascent, some don't.
Hotel will have a new rooftop bar by the team I write this - it's going to have great views of the waterways.
Nice little courtyard to relax in. Comfortable, clean rooms.
Restaurants abundant in the area but they're all pretty much the same!
Transport system around the city - cheap and easy to use.
Tour of the Bosporus etc - don't bother with the tourist boats if you don't need " facilities" like bar/food service. Jump aboard one of the hop on hop off ferries. They take the same route, have an interesting commentary and there are light snacks available. The added bonus is that you can indeed hop off, have a stroll around another district and then, you got it, hop straight back on again. Costs of Tourist boat = £20 - £40 - Cost of hop on hop off ferry = £2.50

We recently stayed at Hotel Avicenna for 4 nights as part of a BA city break package - excellent value for money and an easy tram ride from the airport.

It is a quaint old building in the ancient Fatih district of Istanbul, walking distance from the famous Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, Topkapi Palace and so much more.

We had a superior double room at the back of the hotel (so very quiet) with a balcony overlooking the sea. The room was well equipped with air con, a comfortable double bed, decent shower room, mini bar/fridge, etc. The continental breakfast included was perfectly adequate.

Hotel staff were very polite and helpful, and will arrange city tours if requested. There are lots of excellent restaurants on the doorstep for evening meals.

This is a new hotel, this hotel has the best staff in all the hotels, the reception staff are amazing, the staff is fantastic, the location is suitable for the elderly, Avicenna between the beach and great archaeological areas. the hotel has a great place to have breakfast in a quiet nature, you can also rest in the hotel no noise,In a street you'll find distinctive restaurants and concerts.

At the end of the hotel the location is the best in Turkey.

Location is very good; among the old Souks of Sultan Ahmet Mosque. It’s few meters away from the Blue Mosque and Haghia Sofia. Plenty of coffee shops and restaurants are around.
The room was quiet and clean but toilets weren’t well maintained.
No elevator in this hotel as it had a countryside style. Many rooms are located one level or two underground.
If you’re lucky enough you might get a room at the ground floor.
The breakfast was good. You can have it in the restaurant or outside in the garden.

I was staying here on a 6-day family trip. I'm deeply convinced we found the best location in all of Istanbul, it's a calm and cozy neighborhood yet a 5 (or less) minute walk from Hagia Sophia and all the lively places swarming with tourists from around the world, we were surrounded by many good restaurants. When we asked for a recommendation for dinner, they recommended the best restaurant I've been to in Istanbul which is luckily just around the corner!

The staff is super friendly and helpful, the hotel is very chill, I felt very comfortable throughout the whole stay. For a 4 star hotel I'd say the cleanliness is great, and the service is better than some 5 star hotels I've stayed in (unless you're expecting an extravagant experience for a very cheap price).
