“Wonderful experience!”

We stayed at the hotel in October and it was a perfect complement to the City. It was close to everything we wanted to see and do during a very rushed stay in Istanbul. Our room was most charming and we had a wonderful balcony with a spectacular view over the old city. The staff were friendly and helpful and we would go back in a flash.

We stayed only 1 day and a half at the hotel. The location is excellent, virtually side Basícila, the view from the bedroom to the basícila was very beautiful and comfortable room, very good breakfast and the hotel staff was helpful when needed. The only thing that maybe not worth the packages are touring the hotel, the high prices and moreover for its easy location, everything worth doing walking.

We stopped over in Istanbul for a few days. The hotel was welcoming and comfortable. Wide choice of hot and cold food for breakfast, complimentary beverages and cakes at tea time.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
View of Hagia Sofia from the bedroom window.
Within walking distance of the major sites and also the tramlines to go further afield.

A very attractive, cozy, elegant, comfortable and luxury hotel in the right historical center of the Byzantine and Ottoman Empire.
Interesting and pleasant neighborhood with many shops, restaurants and cafeterias.
From the roof-top terrace tourists have a view of Hagia Sophia and Sultanahmed Mosque.
Very nice and ingenuous classically decorated with genuine Turkish carpets and mirrors, with Dervish dancers statues etc.
Professional personnel, good management, nice reception people.
Good food, nice people, cozy hotel.
Beginning of March for the 3rd time there.

Room Tip: Front rooms have a view to Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Back rooms are quieter.

We stayed in the Celal Sultan for a family weekend in november. The atmosphere of the hotel is very cozy and the staff very friendly and service minded. That goes from the pick-up in the airport to tea being served in the lobby. But foremost, the location of the hotel is superb to experience Istanbul, the streets, the bazaars, the museums, the restaurants. And when you look out the window of your room or from the rooftop restaurant and then sees the Haghia Sofia just outside your nearly get blown away. Of course I also have to mention the very efficient and easy reservation system at the homepage of the hotel as well as the wifi connection inside the hotel.
An old house with modern facilities - that is nice.

The Celal Sultan is perfectly placed for anyone visiting Istanbul, especially on a short city break. It was recommended to us by a friendly travel agent and she was right. It is a local hotel that is perfectly placed for the main city attractions. You could see, and almost touch, the Haghia Sofia from our room and the Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque and Hippodrome were just around respective corners. It was an easy walk to the Grand Bazaar and then on to the Suleymaniye Mosque, and also the Spice Market, New Mosque and Galatea Bridge. The Hop On/Off buses operate from close by as does the easy to use local tram system which enables you to explore a little more of the city without overdoing the walking - Istanbul is hillier than expected.
The Hotel provides an excellent buffet breakfast and has it's own rooftop terrace overlooking the Haghia Sofia - wonderful in the evenings. The staff are all friendly and helpful with all those little niggling questions one has in a new city, including flight confirmation and transfer details for the return journey.
Celal Sultan is located in a quiet cul-de-sac but surrounded by streets full of excellent restaurants so one is spoiled for choice in the evenings .... after trying their own rooftop terrace restaurant of course!!
When, and not if, we return to Istanbul we shall definitely choose to stay at the Celal Sultan.
