Cozy boutique hotel is perfectly situated in heart of the old city part of sultanahmet. It is right off of the main street which has plenty of cafés restaurants, shops and tram stop. Plus the main tourist sites like blue mosque, hagia Sofia, Basilica cistern, grand bazaar, topkapi palace and my favorite hamam are all less than ten minutes walking distance. I was able to see all the main sites within one day. It is a perfect location to stay and if you only have a short time in Istanbul.

The hotel staff is extremely hospitable and helpful. When I arrived I received a warm welcome with Turkish coffee and a snack. The receptionist helped me plan my next two days in Istanbul without me even asking him to do so. He sat down with me with the map and showed me all the sites that were within walking distance. He also made some great recommendations for places to eat.

The room is clean but small. It can accommodate 1 to 2 people as long as you don't have more than two big pieces of luggage to put in room. Free coffee, tea in room. There is also a safe and a small fridge with minibar.

BEST part of hotel is the hotel rooftop restaraunt that has breakfast buffet with the most breathtaking view of the blue mosque, Hagia Sophia and Bosphorus!!! Come for the view!! The breakfast buffet has wife selection of pastries, yogurt, chess, olives, eggs, cereal and fruit. Ate my favorite yogurt with homemade apricot jam and fruit...yummy!

Thanks trip advisor for helping me make a another great vacation decision!

My mom and I stayed at Hotel Nena during our visit in October. We left Istanbul just as it was starting to get cold, but the weather was perfect during our stay! Since we stayed longer than 3 days, we were picked up from the airport by a Hotel Nena representative. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed with Turkish tea and Turkish delight by Sedat, the best hotel receptionist we have ever met. He walked us through a map with all the sights to see in Istanbul, showed us which were within walking distance and gave us information about tour guides. Our room and bathroom were small, but very nice and clean. We even had a free tea/coffee station, which we loved. The best part of this hotel is the breakfast on the terrace, hands down. They wouldn't let us sit outside when the weather was bad, but we were otherwise allowed. The view from the terrace is phenomenal, you are eating right in front of the Blue Mosque, Hagya Sophya and the sparkling Bosphorous Sea! The staff was very nice and helpful, and we were always offered tea whenever we spent time in the lobby. Not to mention how close this hotel is to all the sites in the historical district, and many eateries and shops, all safely within walking distance. Although it was fairly expensive, we loved Hotel Nena and would stay there again. The staff made us feel safe and special, especially Sedat.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Nena during our visit to Istanbul last December. The location could not be more perfect. Also, as we visited during off-peak season, they respected our request and placed us in a suit in the top floor. We had a great view of Blue Mosque from our verandah. Most of the Sultanahmet attractions were at walking distance (5-10 min).
The hotel gave us more discount when we paid in cash. The luggage service was great too - as we stored our luggage at reception in the morning of our check out and picked up in the afternoon before heading to the airport. The Sultanahmet tram station was also within a five minutes walking distance. Overall, I had a good experience here and I would definitely suggest this hotel to my friends.

Stayed here for 4 nights, having booked a standard room for the ridiculous total price of £170. The hotel is in a fabulous location right in the middle of Sultanahmet. The public areas are beautiful and the rooftop breakfast room has one of the best views you will ever get from a city center hotel.
The staff are some of the most helpful and friendliest staff I have ever met and could not do enough to improve your stay. Free drinks on arrival and nice box of Turkish Delight on departure.
The standard rooms are small but beautifully presented and very clean. Unfortunately at this time of the year the air con is used as a heater and our room looked into the middle and was above the air con unit which made it too noisy to open the window. This led to a stuffy and uncomfortable first night. Not helped by an extremely rude family next door who seemed intent on waking up the whole hotel at 0530.
After a polite enquiry the next morning we were delighted to be upgraded to the best room in the hotel. This is the one on the top floor with the view over the Blue Mosque. It was stunning and added so much to the stay.
I have no doubt there might be better small hotels in the area but you would struggle to find one which provides such a pleasant stay.
As to Istanbul itself.....wow.

Room Tip: If you can afford it try and book a superior room as the are on the higher floors and better views.

We stayed in nena hotel in december end,its very convenient location and the best part of the stay was the view during breakfast from the terrace... absolutely loved the breakfast there...rooms were quiet clean but i dint like the bathrooms at all very very small..we took the double standard room but it looked like the economy room as per the size and pictures...they have free shuttle one way either to or from the airport.we used it to get to the airport was very comfortable!i think for the spot this hotel wins it!yea but i must add we stayed on the 1st floor and the people next to us were SOOO noisy it was soo anoying cud'nt sleep for 2 nights because of them...so be careful on that part!

Room Tip: i guess getting a suite is a gud idea!
