We switched from our tour hotel to this one and were so glad we did. While the other hotel was fine the Nena was so much more. We stayed in one of the two suites at the top of the hotel with a beautiful view of the Blue Mosque. The furnishings were beautiful and comfortable. The balcony was a good size with chairs and a table. The restaurant/breakfast room was just up the stairs from our room and had an even better view across the city to the Blue Mosque. The hotel is in a quiet street and about half way between the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar. The area is very safe and there are tram stops nearby. There are some excellent restaurants in the area and it is worth it to dine at the hotel for at least one night just so you can enjoy the view, although our food was also enjoyable. Guests are offered a 25% discount. The staff were very helpful and friendly, they offered us full use of the hotel's facilities after check out as we had an evening plane to catch and organised a shuttle to the airport for us. Wifi was available and the connection was good plus computers with printers were also available. Breakfast was varied and tasty with the views thrown in for free. The winter garden is also very nice which I believe is used during the winter months. This is one of my favourite hotels.

Room Tip: Both of the suites are at the very top of the hotel on the fourth floor. The one on the left as you face the building probably has a slightly better view of the Blue Mosque but we were in the other room and it was perfectly fine.

Just checked out from hotel Nena.

Istanbul is a really big city with so many hotels. It was really difficult to decide on which hotel - so like so many times before we went on Tripadvisor. Based on advice from fellow travellers we opted for a hotel near the Blue Mosque. Hotel Nena was higly rated and offered breakfast - so that's what we decided on.

After disembarking from the cruise ship we took a yellow taxi (because they were recommended). Not being too acquainted with the currency we were thoroughly cheated on the rate. It should have been 15-20 T.Lire - but ended up paying 20 Euro - because of all the luggage the driver said. Afterwards we learned that they are not supposed to charge for luggage.

We arrived early so the room wasn't ready - so our luggage was put in to storage. They were ever so nice and offered us tea, coffee or water on the terrace.

We went out for some sightseeing and visited the blue mosque and Hagia Sophia and were back at lunch time. We were given a room on the 4th floor. Our room had a fantastic view.
Upstairs in the restaurant it is even better - so we decided on having dinner there and watching the sunset. The food was average - but the views could not have been better.

Our room was exactly as expected. One or two things would have made this a 5-star experience: - the air conditioning has seen better days. The room was cool - but the air conditioning more noisy than in top business hotels. In the morning we had the sun in the bedroom and the even with the curtains drawn it was quite bright. Apart from that everything else was perfect. The bed was confortable, the linen good quality, the minibar was reasonably priced, the bathroom was clean and the size of the room better than expected.

The breakfast was amazing. Not the usual business hotel selection - this was very Turkish and a still a lot to choose from..

The hotel should be proud of its staff. They do an extremely good job in making you feel at home. At the end of our stay they also ordered an honest taxi driver who took us to the airport for T.Lire 54.

The hotel is very near public transport, easy to find and in walking distance to central sites - so it is absolutely one I will recommend to friends and family going to Istanbul.

Room Tip: Try for a room on the 4th floor.

Hotel Nena is perfect for a trip to Istanbul. It is well placed being in a side street, near the tram line. It is between the Grand Bazaar and the Blue Mosque. There is a great choice of good restaurants in the local area. The hotel has a wonderful view of the Blue Mosque itself, (you will treasure the night time view).

The hotel provided transport from the airport, offered a cash discount and included breakfast.

The hotel is nice to look at, has a fine reception area and the rooms are clean and have all the facilities you need. Our room might have been small for some, but we found it perfectly good.

The breakfast provided has a great range and everything we tried was very tasty. We did not eat any other meals there.

Finally the staff were helpful and very friendly. They enquired after our needs and were very willing when ever we needed help.

We had a perfect trip made by the perfect hotel.

A very clean and welcoming hotel, positioned wonderfully to experience the many sights of Istanbul.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a nice authentic hotel rather than a glass palace.
We will return.....

Quite pricey for what it offers- but the min you walk, you feel like you'v entered a turkish home. Rooms quite small, but comfy. One would feel the property needs a bit of refurbishment, but there's something which makes you feel want it to remain the way it is. The service is superb & the breakfast was tasty. I was able to take some amazing photes of the blue mosque from the terrace restaurants. From there Its just straight at your face, nothing between you and the mosque. Awesome! Hey not to forget.. the small courtyard which they have. Must be superb to hang out during the warm summer months.
