Fairly good hotel, would not say five star but friendly staff. Free wifi was great. Location about 10mins by tram to main sights. Rooms were great including bath robes and slippers (one less thing to pack) but the smell of smoking in the room was bit of a downer. Had to ask housekeeping to get rid of the smell.
Hotel could improve by having smoking in only certain rooms and have tea/coffee in each room (5 star).

Room Tip: Ask for a non smoking room and a king size bed, most rooms had two singles.

There is no way I would call this a 5 star hotel. Anyone who does has probably not stayed in real 5 star hotels such as Shangri-La hotel in Hong Kong, Mandarin Oriental in Singapore, Marriott in Berlin, InterContinental in Budapest, Radisson in Helsinki.

We were assigned to a small room at the top floor (it was like staying in an attic, with a sloping ceiling) at the rear of the hotel. Thankfully, we only stayed for 2 nights, as it is not comfortable.

Just look at the attached photo of this hotel. Does it look anything like a 5 star hotel? From the photo, it is clear that the rooms at the top floor would be like living in an attic.

Clean, spacious and friendly hotel. Large and modern rooms. We had delux premium room with breakfast and complimentary massage.
Great breakfast with hot and cold buffet. Choice of eggs brought to table. Helpful staff although not everyone spoke English.
Tram stop just outside was just perfect. Located on T1 line with 15 mins to major sights 20 mins to bosphorous criuses.
Happy to recommend. We got a great deal for our 5 night stay.

Location: Opposite Pazartekke Tram, 5-10 mins to Beyazit (for Grand Bazaar) and SultanAhmet (for Blue Mosque) and 15-20 mins from Eminonu (Spice Market/Ferry Pier to Eyup Bosphorus and Princess Islands) and Kabatas (for Dolmabache Palace).

Ambience: Very family friendly with good sized rooms and facilities.

Facilities: A 10m long/1.2m-1.9m deep pool as well as a paddle pool for the little ducklings. Ladies, Gents separate and mixed steam rooms as well as a hot water jacuzzi. Free WiFi access with good coverage and speed in all areas incl Poolside

With Carrefour, a mini supermarket nearby and a variety of local restaurants we were never short of choice.

Room Tip: Good idea to ask for a room not facing the street as can be noisy with constant traffic and tram noi...

we stayed again and the hotel exceeded our expectations once again. The room was spacious with a view of the blue mosque. The manager clearly explained how many tram stops to the old town, how to buy tram tickets a d gave us his card on case we got lost. The WiFi has great signal and is free. The breakfast choices extensive and plentiful. A fabulous place to stay.

Stayed in Barcelo Eresin Topkapi for 4 nights. It's a nice hotel in a quiet location, but definitely not as luxurious as we expected from a 5 star hotel. The room was nice, the bed excellent, but the bathroom was a mystery. It is rather small, the shower was especially bad, not enough water, not enough hot water and it felt unclean.

Furthermore, the hotel is made of bad materials, meaning that you hear your neighbours talking. And because of cardboard door to the corridor, the cleaning lady woke us every morning at 9.30 even though we wanted to sleep in - simply by knocking on all doors in the corridor and yelling "Housekeeping" all the way down the corridor. She even knocked on our door eventhough we put out the "Do not disturb" sign on it, wanting to sleep in.

The internet symbol on our door was a joke, as the connection was extremely unstable and therefore unsuable. A big problem when you have to work via computer and internet! or just need to communicate to friends and family...

Breakfast buffet was excellent though, but sadly this doesn't make up for the other things...
