Everything about this hotel desrves the 5 stars. I have only one suggestion and that would be to improve the TV entertainment chanels for when you have to stay in your room.
The Spa is excellent and all the staff are very friendly from the cleaners to the general manager, nothing is too much trouble.

On my business trip to Istanbul, stayed for four nights at this hotel and it was refreshingly good.. Barcelo Eresin is centrally located in the old Istanbul city, the Tram station is opposite and a 3 minutes walking distance. You pay 3 Turkish Lira to reach any destination including the Emmonu station to see the Bosphorous dividing the East and West of Turkey.
The best part is the distance to all historical places and the Grand bazaar at Beyzit, they are just 3-4 kms from the hotel.

The rooms are spacious, could have been better lit. I had a room with window facing the East hence nothing to see. The U spa at the basement offers free HAMMAM bath, however you pay for the massage you select. The breakfast was diversified and well spread at Piccasso. the bar offered 50% discount on happy hours. Well mannered and courteous staff, I would recommend Barcelo Eresin for a comfortable stay in Istanbul and would like to return here in my next visit.

Room Tip: would recommend top floors facing the west, any floor below 3rd floor facing east would be dissappoi...

I was treated to this great hotel and five night break in Istanbul for my 30th birthday in October 2012. The hotel was absolutely AMAZING! I loved it so much, we were greeted with great hospitality and the room we stayed in was gorgeous. We had a room facing to the back which could have been better, however we hardly stayed there, so it didn't really matter. The location is so ideal, its near to the buses and trams and all the tourist attractions.
The hotel leisure facilities are great, the spa and swimming pool is so clean and spacious. The only bad thing is that you have to wear a swimming hat which can be annoying. The jacuzzi can get a bit over crowded as its quite small, but the other facilities can keep you busy. The HAMAM is an okay size, however whilst it is free for the guests to use, in order to get any of the massages, you will need to pay and it can be quite expensive. For a 30 minutes full Turkish massage my husband and I did pay around £60 each. But be prepared it can get a bit full on and you pretty much get stripped to your knickers lol.
We never ate at the hotel so I can't advise much on that, however there are great places to eat near the area which is a walk away, from great Turkish rice puddings to cakes and teas.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I find this hotel excellent. Everything is perfect: location (the tram stop is in front of the hotel and you can reach the center in 15 minutes), staff (silent and always present), breakfast (everything you want), dinner (exellent and of high level) and.....swimming pool, gym, steam bath, wonderful and several kind massages!!! if I come back in Istanbul I'll choose this hotel again, I'm sure!!

The service was very kindly and was being very helpful. The price-performance ratio was very good. The breakfast is diversified and good. The rooms are quiet and the tram to the city is near by the hotel.

I stayed 5 nights in this hotel with my wife and son on a organised tour. We had bitter experience with tour operator bidir tour by not providing what promised, but the barcelo hotel was comforting pillow as we enjoyed every bit of our stay here. The staffs are excellent and friendly, helpful. Room service was at its best. Food will be delivered with the time promised. The souvenier shop are great but a bit expensive compared to the city. This hotel is in old town and perfect for people want a stay away from the hussle bussle of the city centre and only few minutes away from sultan ahmet. The are is not a typical restaurent area but we enjoyed the local shawarma and little joints selling street food which is great. People in this streets are friendly. Though we did not use gym and sauna, but the breakfast is magnanimous.

Room Tip: Please select a room which is facing the street side(west side) for an excellent view where one can...
