“Great location and sites”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2014

But there are many, many people there on the hustle - the guys selling tourist books, the tourist bus barkers, the rug salesmen, etc. At best, it's annoying. At worst, tempers are likely to flare. Try not engage in any way and definitely don't express interest. And don't follow any of the affable, attractive men to their rug shops. Their stuff is marked up 1000%.

“Where you should stay in Istanbul”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2014

If planning to go to Istanbul, that is the area that you should search the hotel to stay. It is the old city and where most of the attractions are. It is safe, beautiful and with very welcoming people.

“great place to visit!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2014

We spent 5 days in this area of Istanbul. It has a tremendous amount to offer in a really small area. We ate, shopped, and did some great sightseeing all by walking. And this was with a 6 year old. Okay...I did have to carry her up a hill a couple times:) You can stay in this area and see so much!

“Good Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2014

Good place to be for all the main attractions. Excellent regular tram service. Worth buying the Istanbul Kart which is a card you can load up and then use on most of the main transport systems. Plenty of good restaurants and cafes.

“The best!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2014

This is a fantastic area of Istanbul as there was always something happening. The main attractions of Istanbul are located all in walking distance within the Sultanahmet area. Highly recommend to all visitors to Istanbul as there are also lots of eating and drinking places where you can stop for a break. I would also go as far as to say that this is the best area for visitors to Istanbul especially for first time visitors.
