“A wonderful Tourist Place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013

I think , Sultanahmet district is the best place to stay in Istanbul, because it is the centre of a number of most famous tourist spots of Istambul. Hagya Sophiya ,Topkapi Palace , Blue Mosque, Bessilica Cistern, Grand Bazar all are within walking distance around 10 to 15 minutes walk. So , to me one should stay in this District , but for those who loves to nstay in a Grand luxury type hotel , for him/her this is not an ideal place . Most of the hotels in this district are not that much spacious compared to other places and the room rent are comparatively higher.

It is very magical place.. Everyone who visits istanbul must visit there and feel the history ... Amazing but should be careful about pickpockets :( also after evening women should not walk alone in quiet neighbourhoods..

“Vibrant District!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2013

Our hotel was in the Sultanahmet District. Even though this district is clearly for tourists, it is absolutely worth the stay because most of the famous historical sights are in this location. Folks can walk, ride, whatever mode of transportation suits their particular needs best is available to see this colorful and rich in history part of the city. No matter your budget, there will be a place that is acceptable to your wallet. Not only are the sights close by, but there are so many restaurants to choose from, shops to purchase curios, anything one night have need of that is readily available.
The only difficult part of this district we had was finding a hotel with a lift. We had an older person with us that needed one to help make her stay a better one. With much research, we were able to find one. So whatever your needs, do your homework and you will be glad you stayed in the Sultanahment District of Istanbul.
