“A bit touristy but convenient and efficient”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

Sultanahmet is very touristy and in the face, its crowded and not something you would really like

But at the same time it has a lot to offer and hence all of the above.

The district is very convenient from a transportation and amenities point of view.

Traffic both pedestrian and vehicles could get a bit crazy especially during the season.

If you decide to stay in nearby hotels or pensions, expect to walk uphill most of the time, and the hotel would mostly lack an elevator.

“Very interesting area”
Reviewed June 22, 2013 via mobile

The sultanahmet area is one of the most interesting site in Istanbul. I enjoyed my time so much. You can feel the history there. It was very interesting to see the local dance in some of the restaurants. The food was great too. Also you can't get enough from the antique shops especially the carpet.
I strongly recommend this visit.

This is agreat area, try to spend at least two days/nights in this area. Get immersed in the splendour of the past centuries, and enjoy the glory. Get to the Hammams to get you the relaxation.
